I am surprised by how much some people pay for their pills. I take Adderall IR generic 15 mg 60 count and it cost $20/month.

Wanted to switch to Adderall XR but since its so notoriously damn expensive I haven't. But does anyone here get Adderall XR for cheapish?

well if you're paying 20$ for 60 pills im guessing you have health insurance. if you have health insurance they'll probably cover Adderall XR but if they dont than they're like 5$ a pill or so i hear.

$35 Canadian for 30 Adderall XR 20mg pills. My BlueCross insurance covers it. But the insurance itself is costly.

I was curious about the cost of Adderall XR in Canada. I am a Canadian in the USA and paid $30 for thirty, but I have insurance and I noticed they cost $250 for thirty without insurance.

When a drug like Adderall XR is not formulary or there is an age limit your doctor has to do what is called a "prior" authorization. Lots of time people do not know this also if there is an age limit your insurance has a doctor can do a prior authorization, for Medi-cal like what I have now there is an age limit on adderall xr and instead of paying the 2500 a month my psychiatrist does a TAR and it is 100% covered.

I pay $35 for 60x Adderall XR 15mg and 30x Adderall IR 20mg generic, but with my prescription papers there is one that tells you how much it is without insurance, it says "Your insurance saved you $379.99" for the XR and "Your insurance saved you $22" on the generic IR ones.

I have Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance if anyone cares.

Yes I do have insurance, Blue Cross Blue Shield.

I used to take Concerta 50mg and it was $50/month for 30 pills and Concerta is big ticket like Adderall XR, do you think it would be $50/month also?

Right now with insurance I pay $40 for 30 20mg Adderall XR...I think it was $220 without. Too expensive for me so I'm requesting IR at my next appt.

$250 for XR, $80 for generic IRs. Should probably get insurance at some point.

I think it's around $40-$50 for a months worth of my Adderall XR 20mg. And like $10 for a months worth of Adderall IR 20mg (which is a generic).

A great idea if you can do it is online pharmacy, if your doctor will prescribe you 3 months worth you can send that to an online pharmacy, send your insurance info and stuff too and they'll send you that 3 months worth. Saves trips to pharmacy and it was incredibly cheaper for me to do so.

I have taken xr twice a day since 2004. They keep raising the price, its now about $250 without insurance for 30 pills. I use the FREE drug card http://unarxcard.com/index.php and pay about $180 for 30 XR and about $20 for 60 IR. I called and complained to Shire. A year ago I was getting 60 XR for under $50, at one point as low as $220.

I am on my parents' insurance since I am a full time college student, and I pay $25 for a 1-month supply of 30 mg xr (1 pill daily). For about nine months I was off my parents' insurance and was getting insurance through work, which strictly did not cover "mental health benefits". So therefore getting my prescription filled would cost me $200. Needless to say I had to go without for awhile... thank god I'm back in school and get it for $25 again lol.

I just filled my first script: $305 for 45 pills of XR 20mg.
My pharmacy's price was higher ($320) however they offered to price match the lowest price I could find.

Call around your town and get price quotes, then see if your pharmacy will price match:)

Wow, I truly feel like I'm overpaying compared to others with similar situations. I'm a college student and am covered under my mom's insurance (Bluecross Blueshield) and am paying far more than others. My first month (last month) of Adderall XR, 90 - 10mg pills, cost me $100 after insurance and the reciept showed the retail price of $785 which is uninsured pricing. This month my Rx is 60 - 25mg pills and again cost me $100 after insurance and had a retail price ~$450. What am I doing wrong here?

Different insurances will have different co-pays, but WOW what a cash price! Try not only shopping the pharmacies, but discuss with your mom if she would want to check out different plans within Blue Shield, or possibly moving the family to another carrier.

Wow, I think mine cost the most out of every-one here..

Even with insurance, the pharamcy quoted me $360 dollars for 30 days worth of 15MG XL....

Wow. I told them only to fill partial, a weeks supply, and then I was going back to my doctor and either ask to be changed to IR, or perhaps ask him about what someone was saying about ""prior authorization" being needed. Maybe that would lower the cost? And does IR have brand name avaiable, or only generic?

$600+ for 90 XR capsules without insurance; good thing the only reason I would need 3 capsules to begin with is my crazy job, which provides me with really really really good pharmacy benefits. So from $600 to oh about $90-$110 =P

I don't have insurance, and I pay $52/month at Costco for all of my meds -- I take both Adderall and Prozac.

Currently, my monthly prescription is for 60 20mg IR generics, 30 10mg IR generics, and 30 10mg Prozac generics. I think I pay $5 or $6 for the Prozac. When I took XR and IR, I was initially paying $175 for 30 XRs and 30 10mg IRs and saw that shoot up for no discernible reason to about $190.

Before last time was $15 for a month supply.
Last time was $5 for 60days (120 x 20mg xr) I think full price was around $560.

I get 30 pills of 20mg XR for $20 (insured through my school). If I had to pay the full price I'd stop for sure... there is no way I'd pay that much for them!!

$785! Thats insane! There's this discount grocery around here that gives you a reciept that shows you how much you save, and while the prices are low the amount they quote is a little ridiculous sometimes.

srsly, who in the WORLD could afford $785/month???

crazy

I just paid $10 for Adderall XR today, but I have health insurance. I'm losing that insurance next week, so next month we'll find out how much I'm really paying.

Without Insurance: $170 at Walgreen's in Baltimore, MD for 30 GENERIC 20mg Adderall XR capsules.

Losing my health insurance was why I switched from XR to IR tablets. I HATED the IR tablets so I suck it up and pay an arm and two legs for the XR:mad:

Adderall XR is now offered as a generic (Amphetamine Salts ER). Without insurance coverage the cheapest I could find it was $280 at Sam's Club Pharmacy for quantity 60 of the 30 mg capsules.

I get a 90 day supply=180 (generic) 30mg XR capsules for $10 or $65 (brand). This is mail order through Medco. Retail prices are much higher.

Hey everyone. I have Kaiser HMO. I pay 10$ a month for brand adderall XR. 90-15mg XR capsules. Kaiser has some kind of contract with Shire and I pay generic copays for adderall XR. I work for a international retail chain. So if you have Kaiser Permanente insurance or your company offers it take a look at what your script coverage is for generics with them

I have a high deductible plan and at the moment since I hit my 1500 dollar deductible for the year I just paid roughly 30 dollars for 60 15mg capsules (15mg 2x a day).

At the new year (I think that is when it resets) I will be looking at roughly 300 a month for that quantity and strength until I reach my 1500 again.

At this point I have decided I will just plan to spend 1500 a year (plus up to another 1500 in copay). To me it is completely worth it. Thank goodness for the health savings accounts. 300 / month pre-tax is much better than 300 /month post tax.

Like drewm, I also have a high deductible plan. Until that deductible is hit, I pay out of pocket costs for my ADHD meds (rather than a copay). For generic Adderall XR in NYC, it's about $150 for 30 20-mg pills (regardless of dose, it's always about $5/pill), and about $20 for 60 10-mg Adderall IR. Costwise the IR is the clear winner, but many docs are reluctant to prescribe Adderall IR, thanks to all the stories of college kids abusing it. My doc prescribes the IR as an afternoon booster as needed, and for use on those days when I take my dose late & don't want to be up all night. I had to remind her about 3x to remember when writing the prescriptions not to break my daily 20mg XR dose into 2x10mg pills/day, as it doubled my cost to $300/month. Ridiculous!
