I was prescribed methyldep-something ER, I guess it's like the generic form of time-release ritalin. At first he gave 10mg adderal XR, 60 of them. But it was like 340$ with insurance, so I had to go see him again and he gave me the ritalin instead because it's got a generic out.
I start it on friday.... any advice or anything about what to expect?
I am on Ritalin and the same prescription cost me $10 with my insurance.
My advise is to make sure you give it a fair chance to work. I took me a week before I began to appreciate the benefits. The first few days I was a bit hyped on it. I have had little or no side effects to complain about. Some dry mouth but that comes with most stimulants. I had previously tried Adderall and it was also pretty effective but I had more side effects with that.
You will discover, as I did, that we are all different and we seem to take better to certain kinds of meds. But, give the Ritalin a fair chance before deciding to switch.
Good luck.
