We are having issues with our 4 yr old grandson keeping his patch. It works really well when he leaves it on. We place it on his upper back. He went through 5 patches yesterday.

Any ideas.

He may just be too young to use a patch. When my DD was that age, she was VERY sensitive to the way things felt. She couldn't tolerate fitted socks (had to wear tube socks), didn't like pants, etc. It was hard to keep her dressed some days! Did your doctor OK putting it on his upper back, rather than lower back as directed in the literature? The location will effect the absorption rate.

The only suggestion is to try putting it on his hip, under his underwear. He may be more embarrassed to put his hand down his clothes to pull it off.

His Dr suggested his upper back thinking that he would not be able to reach it. He does have an issue with tags, so I buy the tagless shirts. We have an appt. this afternoon to see if his Dr. has any suggestions.
thanks
