I have had this type of thing happen to me even before I was ever on medication but I still want to know if adderall could be contributing to this. I have been very cold these past few days and I believe it is because I haven't been eating quite enough. For some reason whenever I eat less after a few days I am constantly freezing. Just a few minutes ago I felt VERY cold I looked at my legs and you can see BIG red/purple under the skin blotchy things all up and down my legs. They looked horrific because I am so pale that it looks very scary. My legs felt shaky and weak and I still feel a bit shaky. I put my heater on and as I feel warmer, the marks faded away. Sometimes when this happens to me my face feels cold too, and even my chest. Many times my finger nails can turn purple. I don't know why but when I get very cold I always change color in certain parts of my body. I want to know if anyone else has experienced this and if adderall could be playing a role in making it worse?
My first thinking was you might have something going on besides your ADD/HD and a reaction to Adderall.
I do recommend you bring this up to a physician though.
It will be kinda difficult to be sure what's happening with you when we don't know your medical history, substance use, family medical history, what these blotches actually look and feel like....
I wouldn't seek a diagnosis over the internet.
You seem to be genuinely concerned about this and I would recommend you see someone in person.
These could just be skin discoloration from the cold, could be circulatory issues, bleeding issues, vitamin issues.... could be other things too...
If the Adderall has anything to do with it, your prescribing physician should be able to help you, so maybe call that person first?
Relax, I have that too with Strattera. To me it happens mostly with rapid changes in temperature, like freezing or oppositely a hot shower.
I think this is caused by instability in the regulation of blood flow. So blood pooles up in your skin and makes this purple discolorations.
It might be a sign of rheumatic disease if it happens for no reason (livedo reticularis). If it is caused by drugs, which we do know affects the nervous regulation of bloood flow, I donīt think it is so serious. I donīt know for certain, but I am not too worried myself.
It sounds a little like raynaud's phenomena, you ought to talk to your doctor about it as you could be experiencing circulatory problems leading to the weird effects. It does not seem like something caused by adhd meds, more likely it is an autoimmune issue, but check with your doctor to be sure.
I experience raynaud's now and then , and in my case it is caused by an autoimmune disorder called cryoglobulinemia. It can be life threatening, so don't discount the symptoms as having raynauds show ing purple skin is a good warning that there might be some serious trouble coming....so do talk to your doctor.
Me :D

This sounds like a circulatory problem. Stimulants can exacerbate already poor circulation (I get really cold fingers and toes) but you should definitely get it checked out by a doctor. My thinking is that you probably have an underlying circulatory issue and the Adderall is making it worse.

Thanks y'all. After extensive research I am sure I have anemia. It causes these problems a lot apparently, especially getting cold very easily and turning your nails purple. I don't eat meat or eggs or anything wih iron in it. I eat tuna but I am not sure if that even has iron in it. A few years back I even had these incredibly weird urges to eat things like paper, or napkins. I just read that people who have very low iron crave inedible things for some reason. How weird is that?

Just out of curiosity...are you vegan or do you just not like meat and eggs?

I don't eat meat, but I will eat dairy/eggs so I am not a vegan. I have barely eaten any meat since I was about 11.
