If I took an adderall 25mg xr 4 and a half hours ago and just popped another 25 mg xr, this is my first day on adderall subscription so it is my first time taking them my tolerance is probaly bad, i have taken one from a friend before though around 4 weeks ago. Should I worry about OD symptoms at all

EDIT: i know it may sound bad me taking 2 my first day, i just felt the first one wearing off some after like 3 hours and want to find the right dosage

Unless you have some kind of heart condition, you probably won't do serious harm to yourself. You should follow the prescription as written by your doctor. If you feel bad when his/her office opens today, call and ask for guidance.

That being said, here's the way Adderall XR works: A 25 mg dose releases 12.5 mg initially, then about 4 hours later another 12.5 mg. You were probably in that little gap some people feel between the release of the two doses.

Did your doctor tell you to play around with the dosage? If not, then just take it as prescribed. Adderall XR is really meant to last 8 hours, so just take one each morning for a few days. Even if it feels like it's wearing off early (and that can happen), limit yourself to one capsule per day for now. Give yourself a chance to respond to the first dose before you take a second.

Many people do not get a full 8 hours out of the XR, but its best to keep your dose as low as possible in the beginning. Ask your doc before you increase your dose.
