I finally got in to see my doctor and shared with him my first month experiences on Adderall. I am now prescribed 20mg XR and a 10 mg IR for evenings as needed. I'm very happy with the results.

I have none of the side effects often mentioned on here, which is great. My final concern is decreased efficacy. Is there anything I should do to help prevent or slow tolerance or is that only a problem for people who abuse the meds.

With yeserday my first day on XR (or any med since the 1980's) I scoured the internet for information, and found where the maker of XR claims that during a 2 year study, most people did not need upward adjustments of their meds.

I hope this is true, but they also said it would last 10-12 hours.
