3 mg...of amphetamines? ive never heard of a dose so minute. 10 is the lowest ive ever heard, 5 is the lowest i would consider plausibly prescribed. i weigh like 150 (but over 6 foot) and was taking 20mg in the morning and 20 in the early afternoon.

Hmmm good point. My psychiatrist said that its heard of. But you have a point.

My 11 yo son is on 7.5 mg xr and he weighs 100 pounds. On weekends he gets 5 mg and we can still tell when its wearing off in the evening, so its doing something. At school the teachers can tell how well its working as he does timed math drills and the difference between 5mg and 7.5 mg is 3 minutes to do a page of math facts vs. 2 minutes. So, I know his low dose is working. (not that he's on meds to speed up his math facts!...its much more complicated than that as I'm sure you all know! :)

Well I take a really low dose of Ritalin: 5mg once or twice a day. I know you are asking about Adderall, but same difference... If 3mg is working for you, then that's a bonus... You get to take less while still getting a therapeutic benefit...
