Does anyone else wake up refreshed after sleeping on Adderall?

I took too much, and it was still in me when I woke up. But I feel like it helps you sleep.

Any thoughts or experiences?

I wouldn't say I wake up refreshed, but I don't have any trouble getting to sleep while taking Adderall.

I can't sleep during the day if I've had it (I already have daytime), but laying down for a while does make me feel refreshed. When I take it I sometimes get this tired feeling that makes me want to lay down but not actually sleep.

If I do sleep, though, I'll get a horribly dry mouth.

I know what you mean by "you feel like its still in you when you wake up". I would not say I wake up refreshed because I sleep a LOT lighter when I take my meds, but I am not tired when I wake up either. It kind of just depends how long ago I took it. It can range from not sleeping at all to deep sleep.

I get the dry mouth thing *constantly*, also.

I seem to sleep ok on Adderall but only if I take a day off once a week. I only sleep 4-5 hours the first night back on it.

light sleep is considered Stage2 sleep, which is prior to Stage3 and 4 which are more deep sleep...and yes it sucks because stimulants affect the later and dont allow many of us the restorative benefits of deep sleep......one of my main dislikes about these drugs

a lot people you hear in here talk about length of sleep or gettin knocked off into sleep from other sleeping meds but neither means a darn thing about its quality.....

I wake up feeling like crap normally, Even when I get 10 hours of sleep sometimes. Adderall doesn't help my sleep at all. I wish that side effect of the drug would go away. I havent woken up feeling refreshed in awhile.

Yeah when it wears off I feel like passing out. I did one night at like 8:30.

I definitely do. I am quite able to take a morning dose -- dex' or generic Adderall -- and roll back asleep. I find the experience rather enjoyable -- nicely calm and warm under the blanket, just the the thing on a winter morning. Not exactly a sanctioned use, eh? :D

haha...well thats the ironic part...you cant be a judge of your own sleep just because how it feels. the tru determining factor of "good sleep" is actually not during sleep itself but your performance the day after....unfortunately we run around stimulated all day so you cant tell anyways!!!

so the point is, dont fool yourself too much just because you are passing out...the fact of matter is stimulants affect sleep, period. and you wont find out how much an impact until much later

Actually my big guilty pleasure on Adderall was to take it and just sleep for a few hours. The first time I ever took adderall (my first stim ever), I immediately crashed and had the best nap of my life. Afterwards I started to take 5mg before bed to help me sleep, and I definitely sleep better on stims than off of them.

I actually time my stim doses to wear off after I go to sleep. If they wear off too soon, I can't sleep. If they're still going strong- I crash immediately.

Vyvanse/Dex (which I'm on now) doesn't help with the sleep as much as adderall unfortunately, but it's still better than not being on stims.

Remember that the 25% of levo-amphetamine has a half-life of about 13 hours, compared to dextro-amphetamine and it's ~7 hour half life (http://www.springerlink.com/content/w14m559771164631/).

The physical stimulation levo-amphetamine has WILL keep you awake. I found taking adderall during the day and dexedrine at night as needed reduces any difficulty falling asleep, as dexedrine calms me down and I stop having racing thoughts as much when I go to lay my head down.
