I need help here. A couple of months ago I posted my problem with adderall I was on 20 mg 4 times a day. I was incredibly sleepy and tired all the time. I saw a new psych who upped my dose to 20mg 6 times a day. This seems like a lot to me even though it is immediate release. I am no longer tired but have been on adderall for years. Does this seem like a huge dose ? I asked him to try Desoxyn or Focalin. He reccomended I just increase the adderall. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks

That does seem high but you probably should post this thread in the Adderall area. They'll be able to help you better. Good luck!

I personally can't imagine taking that much adderall in one day. I thought take 40-60 mg a day was intense :/ That was all I ever needed to keep me untired and focused and motivated. but then again, i wasn't on it for as long a stretch as you.

For some people that's a dose, my dr. says he has some patients on that amount. But if you are feeling tired and sleepy it probably is too much for you, too draining on your system. It's wearing you out. I would try a few days without any Adderall, then start over with a lower dose and see how you feel.

That may be fine, but for how long have you being taking adderall? Because if you have being taking it for a couple of years, you may have build a very strong tolerance to adderall and its why you have to take it regularly.

Excellent advice. Give your body a break over the weekend when you don't have much to do. Just 1 day every week to start off maybe? You might feel tired for most of the day.. especially if you're taking a high dose, but it can definitely help re-charge your body so you're not constantly flinging high amounts of Adderall at it constantly (and tolerance issues become a problem). I've always been a huge supporter of exercising while using adderall, it helps SO much.
I've been taking 10mg twice a day at most. I try to give my body a 1 day break at least once a week. I also weight train/run a little, and take fish oil which all helps tremendously. I usually take my first Adderall dose, then sometime later in the day go work out, then take my second dose after the workout (after eating, showering, etc.), and that's the dose which really gets me to concentrate.. the workout pump + adderall is a great combo. When I take back to back adderall doses, THAT'S when I notice some ineffectiveness. This is why I sandwich the doses between sleep and working out.
I've never had to up my dose past 10mg per time for over a year so far.

Don't take it more than twice a day. Is you're doctor trying to screw you're life over? 4 times a day would most certainly build a dependency. Adderall is a good life saver for school, but don't become a slave to it. 4 times a day will take a toll on you're body.

100 mg day sounds like a large dose to me. With the IR form I think the best and most appropriate way to use it is to take it when you have a task which requires your full attention. For example, if you have a big assignment to do you can use your IR starting with 20-30mg and use more as you work through your assignment as needed. Taking 100 mg everyday sounds like an agressive dose, and a dose that would put horrendous strain on your body in the long run. Furthermore, if you ever wanted to get off Adderall, it will only be that much harder considering how high your dose was.
Tell your doctor Adderall is no longer working well for you, and 100 mg is a dose that you do not feel comfortable with. If he doesn't want to put you on a different drug, you can try what I suggested above about - taking your dose when needed, or you can find a new doctor. Good luck sir.

I believed some people depending on our immune system, Adderall is highly toxic. In my observation , it
gives a window of relief for a short while but the long term result does not justify it.
Suddenly Adderall is coming like a tornado in the market. FDA suddenly let it lose. Don't mind me I am very skeptical with the govt. ""giving drugs to people"".
