Hi all, I have been on 18mg of concerta for 2 months now. I have Inattentive Type ADD. I have a hesitant Dr, which is why I'm still on 18mg. I also have anxiety issues, that I take Effexor for.
Now...when 6-7 hours pass after taking my pill, I get wired, high heart rate, and my anxiety surfaces for an hour or so. When that wears off, I'm exhausted for another hour. Finally after that...I'm normal again, and the therapeutic benefits are finished for the day as well.
My Dr said the plasma level for the drug is at it's max at around 6-8 hours after taking it, which would explain the reaction. We both agreed I should probably not increase the dose.
I do find it helps with switching attention from thing to thing without feeling irritable and overwhelmed, and focus is better....but these affects are almost non-existant during the week and a half prior to my period, PMS is also an issue (which I take 5mg of Cipralex for)
Can anyone else relate to this rush/crash thing?
Or relate with PMS negating the benefits of their med?
