i'm 5'1" and curious why your polling this... lol
Certainly you are not postulating that height and ADD are correllated, so what is it you are looking at?

By the way, for those out there who spend any time worrying about being small or short, here is the answer that worked for me:

I'm not a small person or a short person...I'm a Gigantic PERSON in a small package, and my friends will confirm that my physical body, while quite appealing, can hardly contain the size of my person! If my body were 8 feet tall, it could not contain me!

Try that on for size! When I first heard something like it, I loved it, and I never forgot it. I embelished it a little, because I like to do some creative writing. Change it as you wish.

I think you are going to end up with a Bell curve eventually. Its already starting to look like one. I'm guessing that the average height in the center of the curve between 5'0 and 5'7 would indicate a higher proportion of female members. Am I correct; are we more female than male?

5'2" -- I'm a petite female....and guys no matter how you look at it.....size doesn't matter.......my honest opinion.....it's the person that counts.....the biggest person in the world can seem/feel real small .....and the correlary.....a small person can seem/feel very large....(interpret these as you wish) :)

Actually, with two populations, men and women, we should expect a curve with TWO humps, if the resolution of the interval separates the two populations.

My LITTLE sister, who is 5'8" WITH SHOES, and boyfriend who is 6'2 1/2" WITH SHOES like to pat me on the head, call me elf girl, and tell me that short people have no reason to live. I'm not even short. I don't get it. Until I was 10, I was the TALL girl in school. I shot up like a sprout and seemed to stop while I was ahead- I blame the coffee, which I starting guzzling at 12.

There's no point to this? How can I pass it up!

5'10"

krip: My wife went off to Montreal with her sister this summer for a few days. The night she was due back the kids and I were a little giddy. The two older girls (16,14) decided that it was probably time to prove they were big enough between the two of them to get the better of me. 45 minutes later while gasping for breath and all laughing so hard we couldn't talk, it was over.. and still Champion...hehh Thank the stars too because I could not have gone another round! < g > Best fun I've had in ages..
Cheers! Ian.

I know what you mean krisp. Not only are are kids going to be bigger than we are, we are outnumbered 2 adults to 5 kids. I think I'd better start saving to bribe the evil ringleader.

So if you wanna get technical I am 4'11" & 3 quarters.
And I also don't mind my height except when in a store or because I have to hem all me pants. Can't find Jr's sizes in a 28 lenght. Even petite are still an inch or two too long!

If I have to be short(5'1") I'm glad I'm female because short guys (5' 7" and shorter) get a bad rap. I mean most women like tall guys. I'm not saying all women I'm saying most- like me. My husband is 1 and a half feet taller than me and I think we look kinda cute together.

5'7 1/4... and I weigh 170 pounds! Oh yeah! I'm almost a heavyweight for my height! The last 10 lbs to gain is the hardest... I was gaining 10 a month for about five months, until two months ago, when I leveled off at 170... grr... My goal for the year is to hit 200 pounds... I'll be really big and buff then! :-p I know this had little to do with height, but oh well.

I'm not quite 5'2" and I remember as a kid always asking the nurse in school each year when she measured me, "Did I make it to 5'2" yet? I never did and even my Mother is taller then me, although she is shrinking now a bit :). I don't mind being a petite female cept when I have to get a step stool to reach high things. One thing I always have gotten a kick out of is when I take of my shoes and people are shocked at how short I really am, it's so funny :).

The statistician in me is loving this nice normal distribution...the problem is it's shifted up slightly more than it should be...but that might be if there are more males than females responding, perhaps...that and the ranges include where the slope-offs should be.

Im 5'8. Was always the tallest in my class until High School. Then there were a few taller than I was. My OM is 6'1''. Which is just right...if Im bare footed and he has his boots on. But having legs as long as mine makes it hard to find pants long enough. For some reason clothing designers seem to think anyone that is a size (mumblemumblemumble) is about 5'2.

I'm 5'3" and it's already clear to me that three of my four kids are likely to be taller. I am learning to accept this (ha ha).

Shrugs, it really has never bothered me to be my height, because this is how I was made. If I want to be taller, I wear heels or stand on a bench. If I want to be shorter, I sit down. :P

From the shape of the curve suggested by the poll data, I would infer that height has nothing to do with ADHD.
It might be worthwhile to take a similar poll with regard to weight.

I think I'm 5'8 or 5'8 1/2 or 5'9.

Trust me. Once you are over 5'8 as a female, it doesn't really matter how tall you are because "you are tall". (Unless you are a professional model. Then 1/2 inch would make or break a modeling deal I guess.)

My whole family is tall. My mom, my dad, my 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

When growing up, all the boys in school were "vertically challenged". (That's the politically correct way to say "short" now days).

There were a few of us tall girls in my class that were always in the back row in all of our class pictures throughout elementary school. Then in the summer of 8th grade, as everyone is going into highschool, the boys finally grew.

My daughter has gone through the same thing as I did. She was one of the tallest girls throughout grade school. She just started highschool and is finally able to look eye to eye with fellow classmates.

She is finally coming to accept her height. All her friends have petite feet and she (we) wear size 9. She's 5'7-5'8, 14 years old, and wears a size 1-2 long in jeans). I told her that if her feet were as small as her friends and she is this tall, she'd fall over, so luckily her feet match her height. :)

When my entire family goes somewhere, like to church for a special occasion or out to dinner, we all stand very tall. I like that my daughter is able to see that we are tall and proud of it.

09-04-05, 01:10 PM
If you look at that curve, 5' 8" is not so tall. It is as typical s 5'4" and very close to the mean. :p

Tall is over 6', if one believes the curve... :)

LOL I am 5' 4" and once dated a woman who was 6' 4". She was tall, to say the least. :faint:
