I am on a first name basis with my pharmacist. Why? Because I see her at least once a week. With all the meds I take it seems almost embarrassing to show my face there so often. They must think I am majorly F'd up with all the meds I take. Hopefully someday I will be off these meds through therapy or whatever means gets me off them.

I'm on first name basis with mine too! In fact, she switches stores sometimes and I just follow her from store to store, wherever she's working, that's where I go! She's a really nice lady. :)

are pharmacists supposed to maintain confedentiality?

my sister is a friend of the local pharmacist. i haven't talked to my family about my dx. so, i'm hoping the pharmacist (and his staff - one staff member is my sister's kids piano teacher) will maintain confidentiality.

I was on a first name basis with my pharmacist(s) until I ran out of medical insurance and started buying it from Canada.
Then I got insurance again and switched to a different pharmacy.
Mostly bc I found out while shopping for cheaper meds to pay out of pocket that my pharmacy was WAY overpriced.

Now, I go to a pharmacy where the technicians that work for the pharmacist have little or no perosnality and barely even look up when I get my scripts.
I would imaging the old pharmacist still knows my name but probably doesn't remember what meds I'm on. I think we tend to think we are more important to other than we really are.
If you put yourself in your pharmacist shoes, you are only one of hundreds of people they see FREQUENTLY. (lots of elderly on meds). I doubt they think about you when you are not there!:uhh:
