I just wanted to warn people about the ability Bupropion has to cause a serious hypertensive crisis in those without pre-existing physical health conditions. I'm a 22 year old male with no prior physical health conditions or allergies, and I was prescribed brand name Zyban, the same manufacturer that makes Wellbutrin, for depression and ADHD. After being on 150 mg a day for a week, I went up to 150 mg twice a day, and on my second day on 150 mg, I felt like my heart was going to explode out of my chest, and had a hypertensive crisis that required administration at the emergency section of an antihypertensive agent with a sedative. About eight months later I thought I would give it another go, but would not exceed 150 mg a day, and after my ninth day, I developed hypertension again, although not as serious, I noticed my heart thudding exceptionally hard once again and am going to stop. I have overdosed on amphetamines before (for recreational purposes) and it wasn’t nearly as bad without the need for hypertensive treatment, only a sedative. Just be wary of this, as it can be serious. Shame it couldn’t work for me, and I wasn't taking other medications.

All stimulant meds can cause this; WB would likley last longer in your system due to its long half-life. The plus is it's a 24/7 stimulant-antidepressant, the minus is it shares the same side effects as Adderall, et al. Also, unlike Adderall - you can't drink OJ to kill it - it needs to run it's course, which if problematic can be unpleasant. ADHD meds are a trial and error process.

recruit,

wellbutrin is great, it's my old standbye, remember not too long ago I decided to stop it about 5 months ago and that depressed mood slid right in, I wanted to know what your thoughts were on cymbalta if you had any . It's my mid 2nd week and I'm not sure what to think, I believe I was a bit clouded on wellbutrin too on the startup though so I'm thinking this could be helpful. Sides usually last about 3 weeks or so and thats not even accounting for the antidepressant effect thats yet to hi.

Just started Cymbalta recenty. Could not handle the tiredness, but noticed that when medicine started to wear off, I felt SOOOO much better. Like my old self. So, I began placing tiny doses of the Cymbalta into empty gel caps and taking about 5mg to 10mg at a time. Perfect! The dose is perfect for me. I feel great and my brain is firing on all 8 cylinders again. It is amazing. Now if it will just continue to work and not stop after two months!

agreed.... I agree with you 100% wicked girl , I get the same results but after your body adjust ( only been on the stuff myself for a few weeks ) wouldn't it be just like doing what your doing now in the regular pill dose? Does cymbalta cause weight gain? I will stop the med if that happens I'm a gym rat, so I like my body the way it is .

Hollywood, I am not sure what you mean. Whether my body adjusts or not, the small dose is still the best dose for me. I adjusted to crap side effects while on the higher dose, except for the tiredness. When I reduced the dose, the benefits shot up and the last side effect disappeared.
