So nearly 2 months so far on Concerta/54mg and it's:
1. Increased my obsessiveness on pleasurable things to do
2. On normal things there pretty much no symptom relief
3. Hard time sleeping at night
4. I have a script for another month but should I fill it to go for a few days or just wait to talk to my doc (3 days!)?
Right now since Concerta is NOT helping so much I'm going to wait to talk to my pdoc and say what she says. I'm not filling the second month's script.

I always ask the pharmacist what he/she knows about Concerta when I pick up the Px -- in the hope of discovering something new. It is usually a different person each time (big pharmacy) and so the feedback is varied. Recently I learned that Concerta's span of effectiveness varies with each person (understandable); it might help me for 10 hours and you for 12. She stressed that it is important to take the Concerta at the same time every day and to go to bed when it wears off (a distinct sleepiness sets in). Consequently, one would want to choose a bedtime, and take the pill the appropriate number of hours earlier. She explained that if you stay up past the time that the Concerta wears off, your body goes into a whole new 'wakefulness' mode -- with renewed focus issues, and renewed other issues too.
That made a lot of sense to me, and so now I am very mindful of the time I take my Concerta in the morning, so that I can get a good night's sleep later on.
