Hi, i'm a 22 year old guy who's currently taking 54 mg of concerta. i first went on this med back in late '05 and took it for about 6 months. the results were great but i stopped because i was eating less and losing weight and peeing like a drunk stallion.:(
so then i went on a few other meds like ritalin (10 mg then 20) but they could never do what the concerta did so i went back on it in late '08. because of my nasty-ish experience with the 54mg back in spring '06 i decided to try 18mg to start and work my way up till i was satisfied. well 18mg sucked, 36mg wasn't much better so now i'm back on the 54mg. it's better than the 36 but it's still not like it used to be. i would've thought that after so long that my system would have "forgotten" about it and it would have been as effective as it once was for me. i'm not quite sure what to do next. i'm thinking of going higher like taking a 36mg with it to create 90mg which is the same as 20mg of ritalin 3x daily.
but i'm also thinking that it's just going right through me and the pill's not getting the chance to be absorbed completly. when i take it in the morning (around 9am) i'll have to take a seat on the porcelain throne about an hour later. i don't remember having this problem the first time. i would have to go in the morning on occasion but not almost every day (and a few times a day i should add). is there something like a certain food or beverage that speeds up digestion/"expulsion" of "not good stuff"?
i like fruit juices, especially orange juice which is quite acidic so i might cut out certain things/add new things if needed to my diet to help my adhd in general, plus let the concerta to show what it can do.
