I'm currently on 72mg Concerta. I started at 36mg, moved up to 54 because 36 wasn't helping my attention, and then moved up to 72mg because it was doing only a little bit for my attention. I take Concerta at around 10 or 11 in the morning and I feel that it wears off by around 7 or 8 because I'm hyper and inattentive again. I can't seem to be able to sleep before 3am. This used to be the case even before I was diagnosed with ADHD a year ago....so is it the concerta or is it just me?

also...a couple days ago I couldn't sleep all night because it was really hot in my room and I couldn't change the temp cus I live in a dorm. at like 8 in the morning i felt a little bit sleepy for like 10 minutes but i decided to stay awake. After that made it through the entire day without feeling tired or sleepy at all(i didn't take my dose that day because I thought i would crash pretty bad in the afternoon...but I guess i didn't). is that normal for people with ADHD?
I'm 20 years old, if that helps.

Thanks!

I think it is normal for those with ADD. If YOU ARE SLEEP DEPRIVED ON A STIMULANT YOU WILL EVENTUALLY CRASH as like all stimulants it stimulates you for the initial few hours and eventually you crash. I'm in college too and I've had this happen staying up all night, having concerta and yeah CRASHING/fatiguing during class and eventually after I get back to my room. You need to schedule the time wisely with the Concerta. Think of it like daily caffeine that's more powerful.
