I've been on Wellbutrin XL 150mg in the morning for 13 days now. And actually the thread title is a little misleading because I still get around 8 hours of sleep per night, it's just that I don't feel RESTED. It kind of feels like I stayed up all night even though I'm pretty sure I was asleep. The dark circles under my eyes are getting pretty bad too...

Can anyone tell me if this is a common side effect and if it is likely to go away? Please help me before I fall over during work one day :)

Wellbutrin is a stimulant, that's probably why it's doing that. My psychiatrist said to take clonazepam (Klonopin) to help get to sleep if I'm having problems. I swear I'm a freak of nature though....I fell asleep after taking a high dose of adderall. I can fall asleep under practically any conditions.

Whoorple, has anyone told you you snore or snort in your sleep?

Only if I've been drinking or having having sinus problems :)

The 'non-rested' sleep thing is definitely new to me. Although I did just find out I'm coming down with a cold/flu so maybe that had something to do with it...I'm not too sure!

How I wish I could sort out what is causing what!

Ask your doctor about a test for sleep apnea.

When was the last time you had a physical and blood work done? Fatigue often comes on slowly and we don't realize how bad it is until treatment works.

I JUST got my blood work and physical results back in. Everything is perfect...so I don't know what my problem is.

I am soooo exhausted. My dark circles are like halfway down my cheeks. I also wake up every morning and get very, very frustrated when I realize that once again I have not slept well. And last night my body decided to only sleep for 6 hours before waking up.

Ugh, i haven't been sleeping well now...

I ended up not taking my wellbutrin for a day and I slept for 25 hours, almost like I hadn't slept at all for a week. I've also been experiencing hallucinations really bad, so I don't know...

I think i'm going to stop taking wellbutrin.

Just make sure you do it with some guidance (preferrably from your doctor)...you shouldn't go cold turkey off of it but reduce it gradually.

Soooo tired all day...hahaha...today marks the one month mark. I'm going to get the dose lowered back down to 150mg if this does not improve very soon.

It is a real shame because I feel like it would be helping tremendously with the depression if I were sleeping well. The restless sleep is keeping the depression going...

And I am so turned on all the time...and no girlfriend at the moment...sigh :o

I'm on week 2 of WB 150 xl and I had the bad/no sleep for a couple of days, but it has evened out now, thank goodness. That half-asleep, thoughts racing, wide awake at strange hours thing was really weird.

You might try reducing the dosage...I have a feeling that more than 150 would make me very "hyped" and ready to crawl out of my skin.

Are you trying other non-med depression lifting strategies (high-dose fish oil, exercise, cognitive therapy (you can do this yourself), zone-balanced or high protein diet)? I've been doing this for years and I've done as well as you can do with it...most of the time I'm not depressed. It's more or less a partly cloudy day in my life. On Wellbutrin, I feel like the sun has come out! But I doubt it would be as successful without having worked on the non-med approach as well.

Yep I am currently doing all those things, and I usually feel fine except for extreme fatigue.

I am about to throw in the towel on Wellbutrin, I just can't deal with sitting in bed awake 2+ hours a night and then the extreme frustration in the morning realizing I have yet again not slept well...

I'm on 150mg, I don't think it goes any lower, the doc said this is the starter dose. Grrr! I thought I had found the medication for me...
