If you could go back in time, to the time before you started taking Adderall or any other ADD medications, would you do anything differently?
I personally would choose not to medicate my ADHD if I could do it again. I think the dependence and side effects are not worth the help that it does provide, but I didn't have any major ADHD-caused problems to begin with, only minor annoyances.
I would probably still take the stuff. It helps me deal with my ADHD stuggles. But, I was naive about the side-effects. It would have been nice to realize a little more what I was getting into. When my ADHD son was a teen, my wife and I tried to force him to take his Concerta and he refused. He said he didn't like the side effects it had on him. Boy, do I relate now. Wish I had known what I know now back then.

I honestly wouldn't change anything. There are some definite cons with medication, but, for me, the pros outweigh the cons.
Might I go an extra step back?
Instead of going to the doctor and throwing ALL of my problems out there, I wish I would've just started with ADHD... instead of depression, anxiety, possibly bipolar, sleep problems, AND a sinus infection. hah... Then being able to work on the adhd alone(which has probably mimicked what I thought was the other problems) and got on a specific med for it instead of lamictal, depakote, seroquel, or anything else that hurt more than helped. Heck, I might've been out of college by now -- or at least getting close.
All in all, I'd definitely still have taken the stims... plus a little more research on them AND my condition.
