I live in southern california, just got prescribed adderall, and its making me almost too hot!
Also dehydrates me so its double bad :)
Other than drinking a lot of water and sweating like no tomorrow, anyone got any insights on what to do to cool off that isn't obvious?
Thanks.

I have noticed that when I'm on adderall, I'm much more likely to start sweating. Maybe you can try to compensate for it while you're on it (e.g., staying inside more).

As far as dehydration goes, you can expect that. Drink lots of water (and be ready to pee a lot more).

Hey, have any guys tried Certain Dri? Or possibly another brand of strong antiperspirant. I sweat a lot on adderall, even just sitting down and studying.
I can live with the sweating, but its horrible and I would like to fix this ASAP!
Apparently Certain Dri is irritating and such and I was wondering if it is worth it to avoid the excessive sweating.
Please help!

Started certain dri saturday night, applied it sunday night, and started taking adderall after the weekend. I did notice an improvement, I was sweating less and supposedly after a few days it will work even better.
Feels a little weird when I put it on, not really itchy or anything. Before I go to sleep it feels like I bruised my pits (lol). And when it feels like its time to sweat I get a similar feeling. It's something I get am ok with.
Hope this is helpful for anyone else thinking about using certain dri.

I have a major dehydration problem also. Just make sure you are taking your vitamins and drinking a lot of water. Also make sure you avoid excessive sodium (i.e. fast food, frozen foods, etc.)

As far as anti-perspirants go, you could get a prescription deodorant, or you could try dove (I know its a woman's but they make unscented, and it works *great*. My dad actually uses secret himself, haha!)

Ok so last night I decided to throw some water on my pits (word makes them sound gross doesn't it?) and wash off the deodorant before applying Certain Dri. I toweled it off and made sure it was dry (brushed my teeth and stuff for a few minutes) then applied Certain Dri about 4-5 times per pit. I just pretty much rolled it around a bunch of times on each side.
It felt pretty normal and I had read that it can cause discoloration on clothing so I decided to put on an undershirt before going to sleep so I wouldn't mess up my sheets.
Hopped in bed and of course insomnia kicked in (damn you adderall! JK! I love you!) and so I just stared.
After about 2-5 minutes my pits started to itch like a mother fugger! I finally understood what people were saying about this. I could feel an occasional stinging, but I would guess that most of the stinging just felt like itching to me.
I don't know how I finally fell asleep, but luckily I did. Only problem was I didn't set an alarm like I usually do so I didn't wake up til 11 :(
Instead of taking my usual 10mg when I wake up, I decided to take 20, not only to get me jump started but to test to see if the Certain Dri worked (I tend not to sweat after the first dose, but a lot after the 2nd and 3rd dose).
It has been almost and hour and a half since I took the adderall and I am completely DRY!!!! It Fuggen awesome! (excuse my french :-) )
*edit*
Just a quick edit, I am now sweating a little bit, but nothing compared to usual, which is good. And only out of one armpit (the right one). Weird I know.
*/edit* <- I am a programmer, can you tell?
I guess from now on I will wash off my deodorant before applying Certain Dri, but thank god for being sweat free!

Hope this helps you others out their thinking of getting Certain Dri. I will update this in a couple days to let you know if the itching and stinging stops after a couple days of use.

If these symptoms don't decrease, you may be on too high a dosage.

The main cause of feeling hot/sweating due to adderall is how it causes vaso-constriction. This reduces blood flow to extremities which is a key way the body regulates temperature. Anything that improves circulation or dialates blood vessles will prevent this side effect.

My favorite is a hot bath :)

P.S.
ACE inhibitors work quite well, but lower blood pressure significantly.

My blood pressure was on the low end, so my doc will most likely not put me on anything that lowers blood pressure.
The one thing nice about getting a bunch of blood work done was finding out my cholesterol and etc.
My risk factor is less than that of the average female, and I am a guy.
And I eat crappy, whatever I want, when I want. God the human body is an amazing thing! Too bad my brain didn't come out right, huh?!
And I knew it was a vaso-constrictor, but thanks for throwing that in here.
Anyway, back to studying for finals, UGH!
