I'm prescribed 50mg of vyvanse and i take it once a day in the morning, previously before being put on vyvanse i was on 20mg Adderall XR in the morning.

So, yesterday i had a long day and lots of work to do. I woke up, took my vyvanse and went on with my day. When i got home in the evening around 6 i was feeling very burnt out and tired, but i still had a late night of studying to go. So, still having a bunch of Addy 10mg's left over i took one. It seemed to work great and i was able to study till 1. Then when i went to sleep my mind kept racing and i wasn't feeling great. I ended up falling asleep, and now this morning my mind still feels like its racing.

I've got another long day ahead of me today (exam week). I'm wondering would it be ok for me to take my regular dose of 50mg Vyvanse this morning? And would taking that extra adderall in the evening have upped my tolerance because i took "more than normal"?

Thanks to anyone who read this :)

I find the meds don't work as well if I am not getting the proper rest. If you take it, it may work for a couple of hours but your body can only take so much before it will crash.

I completely agree with demoez. It's pretty pointless to take your meds if you haven't gotten enough quality sleep. I've tried it and ended up taking more and more because the meds just wouldn't work. What a waste of medication!

I dont think taking adderall later in the day is a good idea BUT I have done it this past week, it was finals week for me. I didnt get much sleep and I know the feeling of laying in bed trying to sleep but your mind is thinking about so many things.
I would say do not take the Adderall at night if you want to get sleep. Also, as far as your tolerance changing, I personally think it takes at least a week or two of higher doses to see any difference in how the medication effects you.

You can use these things to beat sleep, but its not really a good idea.

You'll end up exhausting your body, and then the pills wont give you the energy they normally do, unless you take more than the prescribed dose. Youll have to crash eventually, and it wont be fun.

Think of it as a more mild version of the tweaker whose been up on meth for a week.

Your tolerance won't increase in one day. It usually takes months to build a tolerance to a dose that was previously effective.
