Hi everyone,
So I'm still doing my homework as far as learning about all the different treatment options and medications for ADHD. I've been coming across some good information, so I figured I'd share.

https://www.premera.com/stellent/groups/public/documents/xcpproject/dynwat%3B1385_704177091_3252.pdf

I like this one because it contains specific info about how doctors should diagnose ADHD as well as specific dosing guidelines for all the different medications out there.

https://www.premera.com/stellent/groups/public/documents/xcpproject/pvd_cpg.asp

then you click on "Diagnosis and Treatment of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder" to get there. it seems like they are constantly changing the links. probably to prevent people from linking directly to their stuff.
if it doesn't work go to www.premera.com
click on "providers", then on "reference info" then "clinical practice guidelines".

Now that I think about it, it may or may not be worth the effort! you tell me.

Try this:

Ya gotta watch those hot links!
It seems like a good guide, but I'm surprised that SSRI's aren't listed at all, but tricyclic antidepressants are. I think it's generally accepted that SSRI's are safer and have fewer side effects than the tricyclics do. There are more studies on the use of tricyclics for ADHD but this is because TCA's have been around since the 1960's whereas SSRI's have only been around since 1986 or so.
