I normally take 45mg of Dexedrine per day, and I find it works really well but I have found that I can be a bit unsociable. I was prescribed Adderall when I was first diagnosed, and my then dose was 20mg XR per day. I prefer Adderall, but sadly it is roughly £9.00 per tablet.

However, I have just received a royalty payment (I write music) and I asked my Psychiatrist if I could please have some Adderall in addition to my normal Dexedrine because I want to take it occasionally, on days when I have to work in the studio and now and then when I want to feel a bit more sociable. I've recently suffered a bereavement and haven't felt at all like seeing people.

So, at a whopping £523.00, I have a months supply - but he's given me a 45mg dose when I thought I asked for 30mg!

Although I take 45mg of Dex, it's a short lived dose and I feel as though I have control of it. I am a little concerned about taking 40mg of Adderall in one hit as I've not done that before.

Is 40mg Adderall tantamount to 45mg Dexedrine, does anyone know?

Thanks :)

It's probably less. The conversion isn't exact, but my psychiatrist told me that 20 mg of Dex IR is roughly equivalent to 30 mg of Adderall IR.
