Well, are we? Do you feel you're not quite there yet? Or do you feel like you have an advantage with adderall? Some say if you're at an advantage, you're taking too much. But I disagree. Thoughts?

I think the purpose of taking adderall is to overcome a deficit. If you have ADD and you take adderall, it should be bringing you to normal. If you don't have ADD and you take it, there I would assume you have an advantage. I think my answer may be as confusing as your question. gnbeg 05-12-09, 02:29 PM I really like some of the effects of Adderall, other than the help with focus and organization. For example, I'm much more able to speak my mind when something's bugging me. Also, I am much more active and able to do things than before (probably related to focus and organization). I have been hyped up a few times. I'm sure this was noticable but no one's mentioned it to me. Cause: Adderall + too much caffiene + not experienced to know when to recognize the rush and take steps to calm down. Also, the side-effects are not normal - blurred vision, teeth clenching, racing heart, dry mouth, crash, hunger, etc. tlhengel 05-12-09, 05:10 PM For me, Adderall assists me in being more "normal". Although I think normal is the wrong word. There's no such thing. It just doesn't exist. With Adderall I'm more aware of myself and my actions. I take that mental pause before blurting something out that might offend someone. I can look five steps ahead and see where I'm going with something rather than just stumbling blindly along hoping I'll eventually find my way to the end. I can complete multiple things in a row without my thoughts lingering over the last activity. somuchbetter 05-12-09, 11:45 PM Well, are we? Do you feel you're not quite there yet? The people that say you are at an 'advantage', are those that are not ADHD. oddjobace 05-12-09, 11:52 PM For me, Adderall assists me in being more "normal". Although I think normal is the wrong word. We have different challenges then others. The lingering thing is so annoying to me. I wish I could just "let it go" sometimes. Be a more of a free spirit and trust in myself and stop the mindless ruminating. |
