So my spring semester is done and I have a few weeks to relax and just hang out, so I decided to take an Adderall break. My main reasons are to try and gain some weight and reduce my tolerance for when I start back again. Anyone done this before and had any luck?

It has been six days since I've taken one so far, and I can't say I've had anything too out of the ordinary happen. I did feel extremely tired for the first 2-3 days, but I suspect that is just my body not being used to not having the stimulants.

I actually would like to hear more about this too. May take the summer off, and since I'm only go to school I would be free to do nothing for most of te summer. Wouldn't mind taking it off to help with tolerance.

I took two weeks off and used coffee to stay up at work. Before I was diagnosed, I used coffee to self medicate my ADHD without knowing it. I found coffee to be a horrible substitute and it only made me extremely anxious since my body wasn't used to caffeine anymore. When I did get back on my XR, I found that for the first 2-3 days, it was like I was taking the Adderall for the first time. I had the rush and feeling like I could learn anything and I had a very positive outlook on everything. On the 4th day, everything went back to my normal adderall days.
