They should be able to give you scripts that are post dated (i.e. one will be for June and another for July) although if they are that strict about your appointments they might not be too keen on the post dated scripts.

I wouldn't count on it.....especially if you're not going to see them again. If they can't keep an eye on you, I don't think you should plan on it.
What I would do in your situation is even before you move, find a new ADD-friendly doctor in the area where you are moving to and establish contact with them. Explain the situation and then obtain a letter outlining your condition from your old doctor and fax it to the new one. Don't just rely on medical records because they can be interpreted many different ways by different doctors.
If you take care of all of this in advance, your new doctor won't see you as some patient just popping through the door for the first time asking for amphetamines.
A little proactive planning can prevent a big snafu before it starts.
Good luck!

Although your current doctor may have an issue with the timing of the prescriptiopns, is it possible that he/she will do a telephone consultation, then mail the prescription to you?
As FA indicated above, a little pre-planning in the new state makes sense. Where approximately are you moving to? Maybe some of our fellow forum members can give some recommendations as to local doctors.

The problem is this is last minute temp. move,my husband is a powerlineman and has been working in kentucky for the last two months, after the kids are out of school,we are going to stay with him for the summer, but I am actually going down in two days to find us all somewhere, and then my in laws will bring them in a week, and my script is due to be filled next week, which I will not be here, the area is Harrodsburg,Kentucky
Thanks

I hate to tell you this, but I believe you are S.O.L. Kentucky and W.V. have a rampant oxycontin problem. And aa the Drs. there are very uptight and the D.E.A. is watching everybody.
Otherwise I would go along with what the people said above. Good Luck, Maurice

Talk to your current doctor. He/she might be able to refer you to someone in the new state. It might sound like a long shot, but doctors seem to have a pretty extensive network. He/she might even be able to get most of the stuff set up for you in advance so you can have a seamless transition of care to the new doctor.
Good luck! :)
