View Full Version : Daughter & Focalin XR Questions

My daughter is 9 years old and just started meds 2 weeks ago.
Because I work, I usually don't see her until 4:30 pm. By this time she appears sad, very quiet and just very different then before the meds started.
She was known in school as the optomist, always smiling and happy. It saddens me to see her this way.
I've got a call in to her teacher to see how her mood is during the day.

Would the moodiness cause you to question the meds or ride it out a couple of more weeks to see if she adjusts to them.

Usually, after the meds have worn off at the end of the day, the ADHD behaviors are worse than if they had not taken any meds. It is called rebound. Although, sad and quiet are not necessarily rebound type behaviors.

Definately talk to the teacher to see if she/he has seen any changes in your daughters behaviors. Good luck.

vicmom, since your original post, can you give us an update on her progress on Focalin?
