When I was a kid I always told every one that I wanted to be a garbage man so I could drive a truck
Well today I got hired at the Bluewater Recycling Association to drive a garbage and recycling truck
Does this mean I have finally grown up into adulthood
Oh No where did my childhood go
It only took me 50 years to follow my dream
Grin:D :D

Grins back to you Garry......And CONGRATS!! That is great -- realizing a childhood dream.....
Perhaps you have not actually grown into adulthood (who would want to anyway??).....Perhaps your childhood has reached a more advanced level...:)
OR the child in you has finally felt safe enough to do what he wants in this world....knowing nobody can or will disapprove....:)
How is your job going Joan
dont get to talk to you much anymore

Dude, sometimes people throw out things that are still good! Ya know, like furniture and stuff....I am almost jealous :p
Garry, with your new job, when they hear you coming, Little boys ,.. and little girls....,will race to their windows or run outside. They'll watch in admiration as you maneuever your big truck. And if you should turn and wave at them...well, you 've just made their day...you'll get a big smile and a excited wave back.
Face it....you've reached hero status!!

Yes I agree with what you say about throwing good stuff out but this job is picking up the big boxes with the forks on the truck and lifting them to the top and emptying them.
But to what you say I was driving a dump truck taking the stuff that we removed from a roof to the recycle place and the first time I went the girl who directed me to where to dump it (she was about 35-40, 5 foot nothing , long black hair , a very cute lady and ) --- Happy ---- we had time to chat as I dumped the truck and she was saying " You should see my farm house , I have pretty much decorated it and furished it from stuff people throw out. I love my job and my farm. !
She was definatly someone who had a job they loved and she took advantage of it

My kids think the garbage truck is the coolest thing going. :)
