I've been seeing a psycologist for about 4 weeks and during my last session he told me to find out what this means. I have searched the internet and haven't found a clear-cut definition. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'd guess that it means getting stuck in grief for a period which significantly exceeds norms.

I know I've sure been there.

Didn't find anything online either, so perhaps it is not a common term?

As a psychology student, this term refers to an extreme reaction to the death of a loved one that involves psychotic features, suicidal ideation, or severe loss of weight or energy, or that persists more than 2 months.
