I remember doing this in 4th grade. I followed the first direction, but I paniced so much when I saw the math problem that I simply couldn't believe that I didn't have to do it (it was a long division problem, which I found impossible at the time), especially when all the "good" students around me were following the rest of the directions. When I got to the end I went back and started doing all the things anyway because I was convinced that I had read it wrong.
