I am a 27 year-old music teacher suffering through an array of what might be different problems, or the same. Here's my story: I was "diagnosed" with ADD eight yrs ago, and take concerta 54mg, I was also diagnosed with sever anxiety as well as insomnia due to anxiety around the same time, and now take 2 mg's of xanax/day. (i also take 25 mg's of lexapro for depression)

with that said, a few years ago, I was diagnosed with hypergraphia and ocd, which could be linked to temporal lobe epilepsy. The ocd meds were devestating my body, worse than the others I am already taking. I have a sever problem that is keeping me from excelling at being both an educator as well as a jazz musician. Every single time I try to read, my heart starts to race, and my mind starts to wander and fade. It's almost like reading words intimidates me. what's even more frustrating is the fact that I do have some form of hypergraphia, which means I am constantly writing notes, but can never go back and read them. I often times feel my mind "fade out" of reality, where I daydream and forget where I am. It might be the ADD. But I have heard that OCD and ADD are related to TLE. I often think tangentiantally, then forget about what I was thinking about, and "fade out"I am on these terrible meds as it is, which I really want to get off of, (ESPECIALLY THE CONCERTA) but i cannot function without them. Sometimes I get so overwhelmed with having to write or think about ideas, that I want to get completely drunk so my mind is distracted. Is there any kind of nuero test like an EG, which can scan my brain and tell me EXACTLY what I have as far as ADD, TLE, OCD ect? because as of right now, my life is hell. Doctors have already ruined me with meds

What's worse is that the concerta is giving me palpatations and has damaged my insides. My parents are leaving the country, which means I am all alone to fend for myself without help. The concerta works some days, others, it's just a paranoid high.

Has ANYONE had an EG scan to help diagnose such problems? are they affordabl?

woah... i'm not on my meds right now so I couldn't understand the whole context of this text. However It seems like your really dont like the concerta.
I would try Addrral or Strattera.

My friend had really bad mood problems and when he took concerta he really got worse. He tied all those stimulates (addreal, ritalin, etc.) but when he tried Strattera his mood problems really kinda disapeared. He's actually pretty happy now and in a stable & nice relationship.

Hope it helped in any way.
Best of luck

I took Concerta for a while, my appetite was definitely affected (reduced) and I had sleeping issues, could remember whether i was too tired, or the opposite.

Concerta has damaged your insides? Huh, sounds odd.

not true, concerta is mph not amp salts. That is adderall, concerta is ritalin and does no damage and actually has shown that it may help fix brains with adhd .

I wouldnt use the term "fix"

Stimulants don't "fix" anything.

If they did.... they would be a "cure" not a "treatment"

As for "damage"... the only damage I can think of is high blood pressure.... but I wouldnt really consider it to be "damage"

nice sarcasm, there is some research being done on brain imaging that may or may not prove your statement incorrect. The study is regarding those with adhd and long term mph or ritalin treatment and then the stopping mph treatment and some evidence is now showing that brains with mph treatment are showing improvement in neural passageways and cognition during times where focus and attention are being used .
