I started out with 18mg for the first week. Then to 36mg thereafter. After taking 36mg, I started feeling kind of nervous. I'm am a little socially awkward, but not this bad. After a couple of days I started noticing my hands and arms shaking. I think tremors or something. I really don't like this. Do all adhd meds do this? So are these side effects and will they go away?

Update: I am taking a class for summer school, with only three other people in it. Even in there I feel anxiety. Also thats were i noticed the "shaking". Oh and another thing... when I was reading a book, finger ready to turn the page. I realized that everytime my heart beat, the page would shake. What's with that?

Seems like you got issues with your Concerta. Are these side effects unique? or have you felt them before?

Methylphenidate (like other amphetamines) have different side effects including ticks. But what you describe doesn't sound like ticks, more like as you said - anxiety.

You should consult your doctor about this, but I believe its a result of the first few uses of the med (again, you should consult your doctor).

What you might also feel is your heart rate raising and probably your blood pressure rising as well.

My suggestion, again - go see your doc so your heart be monitored just in case.

These are common side effects, and usually reduce after becoming used to the medication. However if they are uncomfortable to you, you can look for alternatives. Talk to your doctor to see if there's something similar that may have less side effects or none at all. There's so many different forms of each med out there, that you should be able to find something you like.
