I have been on concerta for about 3 weeks now and for the first couple of days I did notice a difference in my attention span in regards to my studying. However, the weeks that followed have become worse with my attention in that I procrastinate a hell of a lot compared to not taking the meds, I spend more time procrastinating than studying which is the opposite of what I want/need from the medication. My Dr told me to up the dose if needed, which will double the dosage from 18mg to 36mg. The only problem with this is that since being on Concerta, my urine has been quite strong, like i am dehydrated and I fear that upping the dose will make this worse. However regarding the urine problem, i am unsure whether it is meds related as for the last 4 weeks I have started to work out a lot and this may be the reason why, but I still do drink plenty, but seem to urinate less, maybe its the weather and exercise, I don't know. Any suggestions/ideas?

Hm, I'll do some research. How has your appetite been?

My appetite has been fine, though my sleep has been worse in that I am more awake at night and take longer to sleep.

I dont have any data on why, but it seems Concerta doesn't work as well for some people and those people typically have trouble sleeping as well. My guess is the time release is reacting too slow and the medicine isnt working to its fullest and with a small dose, like you said, arnt noticing anything.

I would consider a different medication, but im no doctor.

Thanks for your time, I may up my dose and see if it improves things, if not I will have to change meds.
