I read about ADHD in a magazine and was suprised as I have EVERY single symptom from the inattentive type. Was in denial for a while, but finally decided to inquire about it. Although I fit all the symptoms, they are quite minor compared to the experiences of others on this board. I do make careless mistakes, forget things, procrastinate, daydream etc. but not to the point that it hinders my life. It is a real handicap, but I manage quite well. Does this still count as ADHD? If so, do I really need to do anything about it?

Thats the question you should ask yourself.

Do you feel that the symptoms are holding you back from your full potential?

I guess it does. I don't care too much about it, but I guess I probably still should go to a doctor and see what he can do. Not too sure on the idea of taking medications though...

It's all about what you wish to gain from your life.

If you feel "unsatisfied" with your life, then its best going to get checked out.

On the other hand....

If you are feeling that you are coping very well with the symptoms, and you are happy with the way your lifes going.... then there would be no point changing anything.

I guess I'll take time out and think about it. Thanks for the advice

I don't think it would hurt to see someone about the possibilty of you having ADHD. Hey, the worst thing they could say is no you don't have it.

Medications is only one option for treatment. Doctors may reccomend you take them, but at the end of the day it's your body. You have to decide what's best for you. And medications really are only about half of the picture. No matter how good they are, you still will have to learn new ways of doing things if you want to avoid procrastination, daydreaming, etc.
