Hi
I feel stupid asking but will be much happier ;) if someone can please help.

The question: How can I mark all the posts I've read so I know where to start again when I return? I tend to jump from subject to subject and don't want to mark a forum as read when I've only read some of it. I'm sure the information is here somewhere...I just can't seem to find it!

Amazingly enough I've managed a home for 20 years, raised 3 kids pretty successfully so far, have taught myself many many things and even build computers-I just don't get the forum thing and because time slips away from me so easily while on the computer(imagine that)-I'd like to mark what I've read and only see the stuff I haven't read.

Anyone else feel like everything they write is one never ending sentence?

Thanks in advance!

On the Main Screen, there is a link on the right side that says View New Posts (http://www.addforums.com/forums/search.php?s=&action=getnew). This will display all new posts since the last time you visited. You can also, during your current visit to the forums, click on the link next to it: "Mark All Forums Read" This will mark every post as being read.

You have a similar control within each section of the forums as well :)

At the end of each thread, you can click on a link that subscribes you to that thread. You will receive an email every time there is a new post to that thread.

Hope these tips help. Please also consult the HELP section (found by clicking on the HELP button above, in the button bar at the top of the screen).

Thanks- I'm either an idiot or I didn't state the question clearly enough (Think kind thoughts here please :), or maybe I don't understand your answer.

view new posts-does this mean it will remember what I've viewed or only new posts since I last logged on?

I didn't want to mark a forum read until I had actually read all that interested me there-thought if I did so that it would no longer show the old messages that I hadn't looked at yet.

I thought I read all the help subjects and didn't find an answer. I promise I will give it another go.

Thanks (really) for your quick reply. This looks like a great place for me-lots of caring, and understanding people that are in the same or similar boat as me. I'm sure I'll figure the navigation thing.
