This is what I want from the medication. I want to stop switching channels in my mind, I want to be able to screen out stimuli that interferes with my work like noises that distract, i want to not be restless, to relax more. well, the symptoms are worse not better, i am making more careless mistakes, i am more sensitive to noises and smells that distract me when i am working. like the waiting room tv on too loud and people behind me talking ugh!! the only thing i see that is very important to me is I am less rigid and more mentally calmer although my shoulders and neck are tighter and I feel a little on edge. I titrated from 18-36 yesterday. yesterday was a good day but today made me feel my job is just to much on me. I work in er registration, fast paced hustle and bustle way too much stimuli for me and this medicine isn't doing a thing in that dept. Please give me feedback. thanks robbie

I'm going through something similar. Everyone talking at work & all the distractions of IMs popping up and email notifications coming through make me crazy. Then I get home and the kids and the pets and the husband and the neighbors calling all make me spiral out of control. My husband and coworkers handle this stuff almost gracefully. I, on the other hand, am a mess. I've learned to put on a good front over the years and although I am well thought of at work preforming my job is difficult and I know I can do better. Sitting still long enough to do more than my basic job functions is virtually impossible on all but the best of days.
Just a few weeks ago I sought out help for myself and after talking with my new doctor I realized this (ADHD) may also be one of my son's problems. He started generic adderall today & I started concerta. This also happens to be my first day of a weeks vacation. I can tell you that I feel much more clear headed and that's just on 18mgs and coffee.
Now you have a stressful noisy job and you may very well have gotten yourself worked up into a frenzy or the job may not be right for you. Either way give it a few days. Don't make any important decisions. concentrate on making as many human heartfelt connections with people as possible because I bet that is sorely lacking in you line of work. Just ride the storm out and when things calm down a bit you can decide if this line of work is something you should continue doing.

try switching to an amphetamine based preparation.
when i was on ritalin i noticed that in order to study, i had to go to the quietest part of the library to get it done, but once i got there, i could sit for 4 hours and not look up from my work once.
i remember studying for an organic chem exam, i started off at my apt. and even just my roommate walking around, or talking on the phone, listening to music in his room with the door closed would all distract me.
i was like isn't this crap supposed to help you filter all of that out? well not for me, it made me much more reactive to it, in order to focus properly i still have to be somewhere quiet with no distractions. but it keeps me from distracting myself. previously i could sit in the quiet remote spot without any distractions, and i could be there for 4 hours and do nothing. my own mind distracted itself.
but stimulants can make external stimuli more distracting, especially methylphenidate.
see if you can try some vyvanse, it should work how you want it, concerta is fine for hyper kids and for 4 hour study sessions, but as an everyday medication for adults with ADHD i just don't think it's the right medication.

I am doing better today. I didn't take tyrosine and I didnt eat supper. I didn't have caffeine after 4(ice coffee dunkins). I took my two theanine serene supplements at 4pm and that helps relax the muscles plus i did stretch exercises deep breathing and low lights at work to keep me calm. Still felt very very tense in the muscles and a little short with people but only because the second half kicks me hard. Read my other thread about sublingually trying the 1st pill at 7am(just the outer layer then swallow) then 6 hours later 1pm taking the second the regular way and then as the first is wearing off the second will not be so powerful. Or i will try the 27mg. I will work this out one way or another. thanks for asking. slept well took two tylenol pm last night asleep within 10 minutes.

Just a heads up on the Tylenol PM....It's big bucks but the active ingredient is just plane old diphenhydramine or Benadryl. You can get the off brand for cheap! I love the stuff myself. I've dealt w/insomnia for years. Hope your Monday ROCKS!
