I keep reading on the forums that TEVA has made a new formulation of Adderall IR.

Is this new formulation for name brand adderall IR only? or for both brand and generic?

I got a new script today for 15mg generic adderall IR. On the bottle it says BARR labs instead of TEVA. This is what I do not understand. Why does my bottle read BARR when Teva bought out BARR? On my generic adderall XR it reads TEVA.

I get my medicine from Wal-Mart. They're orange in color, round, with 15 on one side an b 777 on the other side. They do not have the "dp" logo.

The important thing is that the medicine does work. I am still confused on the whole formulation tid-bit

I did find an interesting picture that shows the difference between the adderall formulations.

I am confused as well about a possible new generic IR forumla. I have never taken brand adderall IR. I have always taken generic barr labs IR. Now that Teva has bought out barr have they changed the generic formula or are they still using the same generic barr lab formula?

I don't know if any of this will answer your question, But I'll post it anyways. Hope this helps.

"Teva (through its division Barr-Duramed) manufactures the Adderall IR formula."

" Teva Pharmaceuticals (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teva_Pharmaceuticals) is in the somewhat unusual position of manufacturing both a generic forumulation of Adderall instant release (under its Barr Division) as well as "brand name" Adderall (under its DuraMed division.)"

- Thats why your 15 mg generic Adderall IR says BARR on the bottle.

"April 2, 2009 - Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Nasdaq: TEVA) announced today that it has commenced commercial shipment of its generic version of Shire Pharmaceuticals' Adderall XR

- Based on the first 3 quotes I posted, we can assume that your generic Adderall XR says Teva on the bottle because its manufactured under the Teva name. It just so happens that your Adderall IR is manufactured under the name BARR.
BARR is just another division of the Teva company now. The BARR division manufactures medication under the BARR name depsite the fact that Teva owns BARR. I'm sure its like that for a reason. Maybe they are made in 2 different Pharmaceutical Plants?

"Reflecting the change in manufacturers from Shire Pharmaceuticals to Teva's DuraMed Pharmaceuticals, the "imprint" on Adderall instant release tablets has changed. One side of the instant release tablets now bears the DuraMed Pharmaceuticals imprint, a lower case letter "d" over a lower case letter "p". This is a change from the previous upper case "AD" imprint on the tablets."
