I should have posted here earlier...oh well...
My DD was diagnosed in December/January with ADD (inattentiveness) and she has been on Strattera 18 mg for about 2 weeks now. She was on another med that started with a "C" but I can't remember and it gave her headaches and stomach aches so they switched her to Strattera. She seems to be dealing with the meds and no side effects (so far).
I suspected years ago she had this and no one wanted to help me so I finally went to the school counselor and he set up a IEP meeting with the teachers and social worker and school Psy in Dec. After filling out the paperwork and questionnaire it was apparent that they felt she had ADHD (inattentiveness). So, I called our family doctor and she suggested for us to get a second opinion through a respected Child Psychologist at our local Childrens Hosp. We did that and she definately DOES have it. Okay, enough background...
Does anyone else have a child on Strattera 18mg? Does it seem to work for them? Anyone that may have information whether good or bad please tell me! This is all so frustrating to me as I hate to see my sweet baby girl suffer and she gets so frustrated with her little 4 y/o sister who really isn't doing anything to bother her it's just that "DD" finds everything annoying. Her socks, her shoes, her clothes, noise, etc... The only thing she does is her silly "Pokemon" stuff with her Gameboy. She doesn't have friends at school as she is shy and they call her "different". She loves to read and buries herself in her room and we have to coax her out to get fresh air, etc.
I am at my WITS end here and ANYONE that can shed some light for me I'll forever be grateful!!
Blessings!
