Hi, does anyone have experience/can suggest a good general practice doctor in the East Bay, California? Especially one experienced with ADHD?

im completely inexperienced when it comes to this doctor stuff. my father is in the military, so i usually just go to the clinic on base. thing is, i just moved to california recently from japan and i have to find a new medical care manager, whatever that means.

i usually wouldnt really care what doctor i chose, but i really want to get screened for ADHD, and therefore would like someone who takes the disorder seriously. ive read about doctors who think its a joke, and i obviously want to avoid that.

Any help?

Hope it helps:)

I just bought a book by Dr Amen called "Healing ADD".
Some people think he is a visionary.
Some people think he is a quack out for money and glory.
I'll save my opinion.
This book is a few years old.
In the back he has a list of 'forward thinking' doctors.
One of them is Janice Jones MD
psychiatrist-Oakland 510-482-8021

Another is Herb Schreir,MD
Chief of child psychology-Oakland
510-428-3571
