I would live somewhere on a large piece of land in a cabin in Latin America with some chihuahuas and cats....I think that would make me happier than anything else in this world:)

For me it is not so much a place as a person.

But if I had a choice and it would be economically feasible I would go live with my gf in some village somewhere right outside London. Or in a log cabin in Canada. Or on an island of our own. Or wherever else she would feel happy.

Out in the middle of nowhere, nobody around for miles and miles.
Nice and remote, but not quite 'mountain man' about the whole thing... :)

I'd be fine out in the wilderness, just me and the dog walking for miles each day, wide open spaces, nobody to bother me and ask daft questions, and equally, nobody for me to make a fool of myself in front of!

Logic

Two places come to mind.

Living in the Mountains of Colorado.. (Father lives there)
Another place would be Israel. (visited for three weeks)

This might sound dull, but I don't think I'd want to live anywhere but right where I am. I'd love to take extended visits of a few months here and there, but there's no place like home.

South Pacific island......sun, sand, ocean, slow and easy and all the fresh seafood I could eat.

somehow Montreal seems ideal, but I've never been there.

Fiji, or alternatively, somewhere I can be self-sufficient and isolated.

I personally wouldn't live in just one place. I would either get a caravan or winnebago & travel all the time to see all the wonderful places. Would probably need a ship & plane too :D

Oregon Coast, way up high on a bluff overlooking the magnificent Pacific Ocean. Of course, I'd never get anything done because when we stay at the coast our motel gives us that exact view and I really can't do anything but stare out at the waves and the rocks and the sand and the wildlife in utter and complete awe.
