Gary I can't help you at all.........
but wanted you to now my husband did this to our computer. I had no troubles getting on the forum.......
I don't quite understand your question but had a cookie question myself and sort of found an answer here:

That's the folks that wrote the program that runs this forum. The thread I link to is about the inconsitencies I'm experiencing using the "view new posts" button.
Garry,
Do you run a spyware/malware detection program on your puter?
I run Ad Aware on a regulare basis but not all the time.
I guess it kinda ticks me off that It put back on me to keep these a**holes from putting there Sh*t on my computer and I hate haveing too many programs running at once becuase even though Big Brother Billy Gates says our computers are capable of multitasking we all know that he is full of Doggie Do Do because no computer can do 2 things at once . It can only do 2 things very fast and us slow humans think its multitasking..
Im ranting and raving I think !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This sporadic issue may get resolved when we *finally* upgrade the software running this site. In the mean time, please try and enable cookies. I believe we use our own cookies, though they may read "vbulletin" as well. (I could swear they were addforums cookies though)
Hey Garry,
Any luck with the cookie problem?
Is the security level you set just below "high" on internet options/windows? or on your firewall?
Does the program have an "exclude" option ?
I think I finally found the right combination of programs to keep my puter free of data miners, spyware/malware/adware and unwanted cookies. There's a really good website for all kinds of security issues, with q/a forums and free downloads. But I don't know if I can post the web address in here.
Yea it seems to be ok now
Time will tell
you should be able to post the website as an informastion tidbit
I dont think the Mod Squad would have a problem and if they do they will politly tell us
Any updates on the new Forums there Big
Garry,
here's the website for computer cops, the site I mentioned. These guys have saved me alot time, and a whole lot of frustration and money!
This is definitely where to go if, like you said, you're tired of tracking cookies slowing down your computer!

You might want to start by posting your question in the General Security forum, explaining that you want to
1) rid your puter of tracking cookies, data miners, BHOs and the like
2) stop this stuff from getting back on your puter
they'll reply giving you step by step directions.
let me know how things go, erinj
