Currently I'm taking Adderall XR 30mg once a day. For the first few weeks it seemed like a bit of over stimulation but that effect wore off. Now the positive effects don't seem to last long enough. I can fall asleep at night but I usually wake up 3 hours later with my mind racing allover the place.
So now I'm thinking about taking Adderall IR (I hear Eon Labs make a generic that is just as good as the IR that shire made:D). And with the IR I can take 2 to 3 times a day to get the effectiveness I need while in college.
So anyway, I'm wondering how many milligrams I should take per does to get equal results with the 30mg XR.

Short and simple
1) Eon Labs I believe discontinued generic IR a while ago.
2) There are currently only 2 different generic adderall IR manufacturers: Core pharma and Barr Labs. (I've been extremely happy with Barr, and fyi they also obtained the rights from Shire to use their exact recipe for Adderall IR and now produce brand name Adderall IR.)
3) Since Adderall XR uses a 2 bead release system with half the beads dissolving the first dose immediately, where the other half dissolves slower to release the remaining medication about 4 hours later. This makes it approximately equal to 2 doses of adderal IR, spaced 4-6 hours apart.
4) Your dose on IR would be 10-15mg every 4-6 hours 2 times a day, but that's just my estimated equivalence to your XR dose. Most people find an IR dosage lasts 4, sometimes 5 hours but rarely ever 6 hours, keep that in mind.
Being a college student myself I find 3 doses/day taken every 4 hours covers my entire day and dextrostat as needed at night for classes, studying, or course work.

According to http://www.us.sandoz.com/site/en/gen...ct_Catalog.pdf (http://www.us.sandoz.com/site/en/generics/catalog/pool/Product_Catalog.pdf) sandoz which bought Eon Labs they still make the generic Adderall IR.

I've been on 30mgXR addreall and it did'nt really work ....so the doc put me on 30 mg IR x 3 day ......found it to work better the only problem is to forget to carry an etra pill when i leave for the day,and crash out in the middle ........they last me around four hrs per dose
the hardest part is getting the insurance to pay:mad: they think it is too high of a dose andi have to have the doc justify it to them.a real pain:mad:
