Dear Add Forum Folks:

I am fairly new to this forum but have posted twice regarding taking both Strattera and Concerta and emotional "blankness" as a result.

So I tried...
Taking One 40 mg. tablet of Strattera before bed, then the other with the two Concerta tablets in the morning (Total dosage: 80 mg. strattera/ 36 mg (two pills) Concerta)

Seemed to help mornings a bit, but focus levels still don't seem too great.

Then I tried,
Both concerta in the morning, one strattera with the Concerta, and the other Strattera late morning or noonish.

Neither seem to have made any significant difference.

Tomorrow I am going to take a chance and take only ONE pill of Concerta and strattera...I am really starting to think that the dosage is too much and affecting me adversely!

Thanks Gregster for suggestions to the other thread.

Footnote: When originally diagnosed last fall with Adult ADHD, I started on Concerta alone. Worked like a charm at first (36 mg dosage) but then seemed to not be as effective. Dosage was increased to max. Concerta dosage resulting in HIGH blood pressure and a constant feeling of "high alert tight chestedness" so I went back to the smaller dose and added Strattera with the goal of getting off Stimulants. To be continued...

Gregster, and other ADD Forum Members,

Today I did as planned, took one Concerta pill in the morning, and a Strattera pill in the Afternoon.

Feel much calmer today. Blood Pressure is down SIGNIFICANTLY...hmmmmm?????

I will keep you posted!

Not sure if this is mentioned elsewhere, but Strattera can increase blood pressure. You should be careful taking it with any meds that constrict the blood vessels (like many cold meds) or have a side effect of increased blood pressure (i.e. Viagra)
