View Full Version : Sex?!?! What's THAT???
No...this is a FAMILY-oriented forum :p ;)
To better understand the demographics that make up the ADD Forums membership...
Are you a Male or a Female? :)
Boogiebutt 04-12-03, 03:16 PM oh my god and the name freaked me out.......im female
Justin'smommy 04-15-03, 04:24 AM female of course:)
So...this forum is made up of only 11 members who are an identified sex??
fasttalkingmom 10-18-03, 06:43 PM female
Wheel1975 10-19-03, 12:40 AM there are a number of other choices that really should be available.
Trans gender and indistinct gender folks are more common than you might think. I beleive more that 1/1000. These are people with congenital gender ambiguity.
This has nothing whatsoever to do, specifically with homosexuality or gender identity or gender preference.
Having a third choice might not get people to self identify, but they might.
There ya go...now there is an "Other" category. How's that?
Wheel1975 10-19-03, 01:01 AM http://www.isna.org/faq/frequency.html
Ok...so...you would like the "Other" choice changed to something in line with your linked article?
What is the "P.C." thing to do?
postrocker 10-28-03, 12:09 PM im a dude
healthwiz 11-16-03, 12:12 AM I'm one of them thar' sex-crazed, bike-ridin', womanizin', hormone-injected, masculine machines and darn proud to be an egotistical, pool-shootin, beer-guzzlin, female-chasin, square-dancin fool too, which means I don't pay bills, I don't clean dishes, I don't decorate the kitchen, I hardly shave, I misbehave, I burp and Far_ - yup you guassed it! - and I don't often smell too very fantastic, yet the women still shake when they see me struttin to the plate, put your hands over your mouths, a real man with lumberjack shirts is going to ask you on a date, struttin past your place, and I wear old colognes you never heard of either, and I still eat TV dinners when your not here. Oh baby come back home! I'm a man!
tudorose 11-17-03, 08:54 PM I'm a tomboy. I never wear dresses. I can't sew, knit, mend or any of that stuff. I do brick paving instead and a lot of manual labour jobs around the house instead. Hubby does the ironing and mending and my son has taken an interest in sewing. Kind of a wierd role reversal.
Sc@tterBr@in_UK 11-18-03, 04:25 AM As I said on the age thread I'm female, bit of a tomboy although not to the extreme. Don't wear dresses (never have), always preferred woodwork to knitting etc. (was the only girl in my class who did woodwork instead), climbed trees as a kid and always got on better with boys than gals. I'm neither "One of the girls" nor "one of the lads"... kinda don't fit in anywhere really ;)
FlakeyGirl 12-02-03, 07:56 PM XX
Jellybean 12-12-03, 12:30 PM I am female, who is very intouch w/her masculine side. I love dreses thought as they are plainly comfortable. People to this day say to me when they see me in a dress,"oh I have never seen you in a dress before" I have always worn them, since I can remember. Is that weird, they don't notice? I was the ultimate tomboy, didn't do girl things back when. I have worked hard to get in touch with my female sexuality. I still want to take up belly dancing.
I'm still kind of a tomboy (if you can be a tomboy without having any athletic ability whatsoever). I dress up occasionally, but I'm just not very "girly". ;)
FlakeyGirl 12-12-03, 02:45 PM Same here. I do enjoy watching many sports though. I have more sports knowledge, so DH says, than lots of guys. Dressing up is ok. Sometimes I get sick of my uniform (ponytail, jeans & t-shirts).
What, krisp, you mean you don't squeal with delight when you see kitties or pout when you break a nail? You don't feel compelled to hug your friends, everytime you see them, even if it hasn't been that long since you last saw them?
Hey Ladies?
I'm the same way too.
Tomboyish as a kid and teen too.
To make myself feel feminine I grew my hair out. :)
ScatteredOne 12-31-03, 10:09 AM I'm female.. tomboy growing up.. turned more girlie with age.
Male. Not like the name doesn't make the case for my gender pretty easy to establish... Although, as I have matured somewhat over the years, I may have to change it to E-man... Yeah, MATURED.... That's it.
MegAtomic 01-05-04, 03:45 AM Male last time I checked
...Rechecks.....
Yup still a male
..phfew....(relieved)
Big I think if you are in the category of other....that is a whole different forum hun. I am as female as all us other southern belles We love our men, but take no **** either! :D
wlfbear27 01-17-04, 08:37 PM I'm a guy
Christiana 01-18-04, 11:41 PM I'm female, but I was kinda a tomboy too when I was younger (losing it with age though). I hate the label "tomboy", I'd rather just say I'm not a "girly girl"... you know?
I guess alot of it comes from stubborness and wanting to show I can do things people don't think I can do. I've always been skinny and shy, but i loved doing things like climb trees and building stuff. I HATED dresses and dolls and the color pink JUST becuase other girls liked them. Now I don't care as much becusae I don't feel the whole anti-confomity thing pulling me as much.
Anyway I was a wrestler (yes... I wrestled guys and girls, and NO it wans't a sexual thing in any way!) in 8th and 9th grade. I had some bad experiences but in general I loved it and only quit becuase I just didn't have the time with school.
I used to play the violin but switched to the bass becuse it's the biggest, lowest instrument you can find... I LOVE it! I think you all should play the bass too by the way becuase it's the best instrument. (I love the low sound) I remember when I told my orch. teacher I wanted to try it, and she just looked at me and said I had too small of hands, but could give it a try if i wanted to. I practiced every day after school in the schools practice room and flourished... I've made a lot of accomplishments with it since then.
I've always liked science and math and I went into engineering in college. Definately a guy-dominated feild, but I love it anyway. The thing is, the lack of girls doens't bother much at all. I probalby wouldn't have even noticed if nobody had pointed it out to me. I joined a student project team freshman year that designs and builds an off-road race car... again almost all guys, but I don't mind. I love the team and I have TONS of fun... it's hands on and provides a creative outlet for my ADD brain.
I wonder if there's a connection between ADD girls and being tom-boyish? (i'm sure there's plenty who aren't tomboyish out there, but it seems like there are a lot who ARE.)
Nucking_Futs 01-20-04, 09:03 AM you had to know I would come here lmbo---last time I checked ALL girl
pembroke 01-23-04, 12:32 AM i am woman, hear me roar.
Coral Rhedd 01-07-05, 10:57 PM Actually, when I first saw the title of the thread, I was going to answer, "Not for some time now."
Female, but very much a tomboy!
whiteraven 01-08-05, 02:35 AM (chuckling about Coral Redd's comment)
the rainraven is very female, but also was called a tomboy.
I hate rough and tumble (that touch sensitivity you know) but I still love climbing trees and getting dirty.
aneededchange 01-08-05, 06:11 PM Though I confused adults when I was younger ((No hair - my cousins clothes... boy shoes)) ... I am definitely a woman.
(( But I guess you could still call me a tom boy...))
i may be a kid in grownups clothing, but im still a man (:) )
...Daria 01-09-05, 04:57 AM I'm one of them thar' sex-crazed, bike-ridin', womanizin', hormone-injected, masculine machines and darn proud to be an egotistical, pool-shootin, beer-guzzlin, female-chasin, square-dancin fool too, which means I don't pay bills, I don't clean dishes, I don't decorate the kitchen, I hardly shave, I misbehave, I burp and Far_ - yup you guassed it! Just an FYI, I made a poll out of something I have read on this thread. I feel there are lots of "tomboys" on this site. Maybe there is a link between ADD and Women, who knows. Anyway, there is a poll on the Women and ADD link, check it out if u like!
100% lady..Love to look like a lady..wearing short skirts, or wearing tight jeans, and frilly lacy blouses..I l ove being a woman~
FightingBoredom 01-10-05, 09:55 PM I'm a male who has tried to get in touch with my feminine side, my inner child, and my spiritual wealth yet frequently find myself saying "can you hear me now?" :D
meadd823 01-11-05, 12:58 AM Big that was very SNEAKY!!!!!LOL
I'm male. Can't you tell by the way my head irreverantly is hitting the water in my picture? I can always blame my actions on brain damage caused by learning to flip on my kneeboard! lol
Seriously, being a man rocks. Of course, the very best part of being a man, is being a gentleman.
Can I have my toys back now?images/icons/icon11.gif
