Anyone else have a problem with Strattera and problems with sex/masturbation?

The problems I have are:
Decreased time to ejaculation/orgasm.
Burning sensation in urethra during orgasm.

Anyone with any similar symptoms?

I had problems getting and maintaining an erection and with quick and painful ejaculation. These problems seemed to correlate strongly with when I took strattera. ~1-6 hours after I took a does I would be pretty much flaccid (one really weird thing is I might be able to achieve ejaculation without erection within this time window, though the ejaculation was hard to control and somewhat painful). 6-12 hours after taking medication I could achieve an erection, but ejaculation would be quick and sometimes accompianied with an unpleasant almost painful burning. Additionally, I experienced a reduced sex drive. I didn't really seek out sex while on strattera nor would I have sexual fantasies really at all. It got really annoying; if I was anticipating sex on a given day, I'd either have to be very careful to get up early and take my meds very early in the day or skip them altogether. The good news is these problems (for me anyway) seems pretty temporary. I have been off Strattera for about a week now, and all these issues have cleared up (though I am a forgetful mess of distraction).

I had noticed that similar to what f4k3pl4stic (http://www.addforums.com/forums/member.php?u=37355) reports, I would have difficulty with urination for the first 1-4 hours after taking atomoxetine, and later discovered the difficulty with achieving erection within the same time frame.

When I mentioned this new development to my doc, he told me that the rep from Lilly had just mentioned that this can happen earlier this week. Funny world, eh?

As for why you might feel pain, I can only conjecture that when I have trouble with urination, it tends to feel like that sphincter is just clamped. If it really is clamped, then you shouldn't be surprised if forcing ejaculate through this cause some discomfort.

My advice:
If you plan on having a late morning in bed, don't take your meds until brunch.

All of the above. Lowered the dose and it all went away.

I recently started Strattera and I am on day 10 at 40mg. I've noticed that during an orgasm and after, there is a tight, more intense feeling. It's almost as though i'm clogged up. I initially thought it was my prostate swelling or something. It's not painful but odd. The biggest issue is that trying to urinate afterward is nearly impossible even when I really need to. I have urine hesitancy more than I remember as well. I am attributing this to the Strattera. I'm curious as to whether or not this will be more pronounced as my dosage increases over the next 20 days.

Different mental states from mind-altering drugs affect sexuality. Fact. You can have reality or not.
