Song of Mercy 10-21-09, 12:56 PM With so much hurt to talk about, and struggles to find relief from various challanges and feelings around the board, I thought it would be healing to get a bit of our thinking onto the good around us. I hope you will join me in stopping in occasionally and reflecting on the good in our lives.
A friend I just met named Donna. She is very nice and has similar interest to myself. She is a really healthy person in terms of she is not proud of her error but secure in herself. She is the kind of person who I have been wanting in my life.
A mentor in my life that I respect and trust enough to be impacted by.
Kiddder 10-21-09, 02:17 PM A job with insurance. I know what it's like to have neither and know there are far too many out there suffering financially, physically or both because they have neither, and most at no fault of their own.
I really had an exceptional day!
Song of Mercy 10-21-09, 05:23 PM I really had an exceptional day!
You are (almost) always so bright and shiney Stephanie! So, I am grateful for you and the sunshine you share with everyone.

I'm grateful for this Forum and all my friends here; all the fun we have , A computer and connections and our Sooper Dooper Moderators who keep this place running so smoothly; and need I say, Song for bringing our many blessings to our minds with this excellent thread. Thanks Hon! You are a true Inspiration! :D
:D:):D:cool:;););):):D
HydrusAPR 10-21-09, 06:31 PM ...the ADDer's in my life and the God who created them. Their gifts, talents, and all the things they do RIGHT, in their own way, does not catch God off guard...considering all He made and all He does and the ability to hyper-focus on each one of us...maybe He chose to share such Divinity with a few. :)
Song of Mercy 10-22-09, 05:06 AM I love your tag line hydrus, nice!
I am grateful that after the dark of deep night, is the glory of purple and then magenta turning into pink then mango and finally the lifting of the sun.
Having ADHD!
Seeing as how I am still up and wide awake 21 hrs later, due to be in yoga and then running class at school by 8:30 am later this morning, then coming back to work by 3pm until 11:30pm again.
And this after a week of days when I've been up at most, 25 hrs straight.
What a week!
Couldn't have done it without my ADHD though!;)
I'd be a real mess for sure!:p
CircularingCats 10-22-09, 06:28 AM Sunday I experienced two separate incidents that led me to back-to-back trips to the local ER for stitches first on my right hand and then on my left hand. :o
I've been in the middle of housecleaning for an upcoming housing inspection next week and I NEED those hands. Luckily, the pain has mostly subsidized and I've regained good movement of both hands so that I can both have my beloved hands :) and get the darn housecleaning done on time.
So I'm grateful for having insurance coverage for things like that, and for my regular ongoing meds and medical treatment. And I'm grateful that the mishaps I had weren't worse than they are!
Cats
Song of Mercy 10-22-09, 09:40 AM I am grateful for living in a developed country with plenty of access to electricity.

what a lovely thing to write!
Once again I am just so grateful to have found these forums. I noticed recently it says "join date October 2008" by my name and so I have been here for a year already!
thank you everyone.
Metamucil. Don't need to go into details about that.
"the fingernails of God scraping your colon clean."
Kiddder 10-22-09, 04:34 PM Metamucil. Don't need to go into details about that.
"the fingernails of God scraping your colon clean."
Well....you said you wouldn't......but then you did..... :D
I am thankful today to not need the "fingernails of God" doing anything to my insides or Metamucil for that matter. Tomorrow's another day.
xraylady33 10-22-09, 04:50 PM I am thank-ful for the opportunity to guide another woman onto the right path...she had her mammogram, and her mastectomy, and today(yes TODAY), she stopped into see me....happy, healthy and beautiful!
I live to offer a diagnosis that will lend in a prognosis.
Song of Mercy 10-22-09, 05:23 PM I am grateful to the committment xraylady had to her patients when she was still feeling her way around the ealier part of her medical career. Specifically, I remember when X would post about studying her med books over and over even though she was out of school because she did not want to mess up another persons life.
I am grateful on behalf of all the lucky patients who find there way to a better state of health, because lady X went the distance...and then beyond...
~Ødd~Scr~θθball 10-22-09, 05:47 PM I'm grateful for all of you who are able to see the beauty in this world and share it with us. Those of you who~no matter what~persevere against what seems like insurmountable odds, and those of you who go the extra mile to help others. Bless you all!
Circularing Cats, I hope your hands get better soon. Xray Lady I hope your friend stays Happy Healthy and Beautiful! :D:D:D
This morning I saw a beautiful sunrise with a palette of Deep Indigo, Cerulean Blue tinged brightly with intense Vermilion, and two separate ribbons of brilliant Coral color stretching across the eastern morning sky. Breathtakingly Gorgeous!!! :D:D

I am also grateful for Kleenex Aloe Vera Tissues
Song of Mercy 10-23-09, 02:52 AM ohhhh yeah, when you have the snuffles those lotion kleenex tissues are really nice.
After my meeting with my councelor last week I felt so sad about certain aspects of myself, I didnt think I could deal with it...of course I did :)
I am grateful for growing up and moving on...I am grateful that although we fall behind the curve in the maturity process, adders do still mature, and do still come to the place of peace that growth can bring.
Song of Mercy 10-23-09, 09:16 AM A good nights sleep.
a friend who was willing to make a few plan changes to help me at the last minute.
xraylady33 10-23-09, 11:36 AM Today I am thankful my daughter walked into school and held her head high, as yesterday she burried a dear young friend.
We all have bad days, but to lose a child to Cancer, is the most devistating event that can occur.
My daughter has burried 5 friends in her young life, and today I am so proud and thankful for her strong spirit, core...but most of all, I am thankful she is healthy and alive.
crazycat1990 10-23-09, 05:18 PM Well they're not so much from today but from the past week or so...
I'm grateful for the technology we have these days! After seeing a program on TV the other week, where each week a family "lived" in a certain decade, so first it was the 70s, then the 80s...and last week it was the 90s! The decade I grew up in, wooop! :D
It was so funny looking back at everything...like the old computers and Windows 95!! And the old games consoles...and the dial-up internet connection! And the noises it made LOL!!
And how they pretty much failed at a shopping trip becuase they didn't have mobile phones to contact each other :p
And as for the old phones...!!!!!
Secondly, I am grateful for when my laptop keyboard worked, and for having people that can fix it for me! A few of the keys don't work, but the majoirty do...in a way, it would have been better for the whole thing to break, that way the people that are helping me would have helped me by now :o basically they've got spare USB keyboards but haven't got round to looking for them yet, because I can pretty much cope with it.
Thirdly, I'm grateful for my friend being such a good friend the other night and coming all the way to my place, picking me up, then driving up to north London at like 11:30 at night, and having the idea of staying at my boyfriend's place with me (I hate staying there but with our friend there too I felt completely fine, well 98%...but better than 0%!).
It's sort of a long story about how it went a bit wrong and all that...but the reason I had to get up to north London that late at night was because we were all going up to Alton Towers the next day and had an early start.
Song of Mercy 10-24-09, 10:34 PM I am profoundly grateful for the house I just rented. I am in a home that is being inspected by the city soon for suspect of livability...ie...possibly about to be condemned or something of the sort. I have really blown it at my last two places and do not have a good rental history so i just did not know what was going to happen. The folks I am renting from are missionaries at our church and they have decided to go back to the field for a while. I asked them to lower the rent a bit...and they did! Then, they offered to take less deposit than I was willing to put up front in liew of monthly installments...so it is so great. The best part? I have always my whole life dreamed of having a house with a parlor, and guess what? Yup! It's got a parlor!!! They asked how long I saw myself their, and I told them until they returned to from the mission field, they told me they do not want to move back into the house becuase it is to big for them now that they are getting on in years and having some health issues...and then...they said that if after 1-2 years if I have established a good payment history they will do a purchase option. I am so happy. :)
Turbochica 10-25-09, 12:20 PM I am grateful that in the midst of al that can happen in life, I have my faith, family, my dear husband and of course my online friends to walk beside me, encourage me, make me laugh and smile. Life is good.
live football (sorry a bit less inspirational - but it just makes me happy! this has only been available here for the past couple of years).
river09 10-25-09, 03:07 PM I am grateful that my 2 yr old seems to be a happy kid with so much character!
livinginchaos 10-25-09, 10:59 PM no pain!
The Trooper 10-26-09, 09:45 AM my £250 remote control car working as it should without any problems today!
xraylady33 10-26-09, 01:29 PM I am grateful to the committment xraylady had to her patients when she was still feeling her way around the ealier part of her medical career. Specifically, I remember when X would post about studying her med books over and over even though she was out of school because she did not want to mess up another persons life.
I am grateful on behalf of all the lucky patients who find there way to a better state of health, because lady X went the distance...and then beyond...
WOW!!!!! Thank you my sweet song!!!!!!! I will never take anyone or anything for granted. I will offer all I can for as long as I am able...
Thank you for the beautiful words, from a beautiful soul!
Turbochica 10-27-09, 09:46 AM I am grateful for the author of time ordering my work days so I have enough time to do what needs to be done - :)
CircularingCats 10-27-09, 10:02 AM Today I am grateful that people are grateful about positive things because I feel that that spins the world more smoothly.
I am also grateful for a good night's sleep, though not so many hours were needed. I am headed towards my countdown for my apartment inspection tomorrow. (That will be any time after a mere 26 hours from now -- Eek! says the procrastinator and clutterer and worrier me.)
I am grateful that my life seems more manageable overall. The introduction to the ADD meds has certainly been a great help, as have been both my T and pdoc.
Cats :)
transfering someone (on vacation in another time zone) into a mega important conf call. - I've been worrying about it all day! especially the part about not forgetting to call him at 3:00...
Turbochica 10-27-09, 10:39 AM I am grateful for another day a clean house, kids in school and a day off the very day my new computer arrives booyeah!
Song of Mercy 10-31-09, 12:05 AM I am grateful to be sitting in the quiet of my groovy new house posting to my fav forum :)
I'm grateful for the support of my family and friends and the team of doctors and homecare folks.
The other week, after doing some PT and OT I had pain in my lower leg..
A few minutes later my PT came by and examined my leg. She said," no PT today " and ask me to lay down..raise my leg..
She then called my primary doctor..She...she waited around for about an hour for his return call...
I quess what I'm sharing is...she stayed to make sure I was ok...and for instructions from primary doc. She could of left anytime...but she stayed...
Doc called..I went to the ER for an ultrasound of my leg.. They found a DVT in my lower leg...
I am grateful for people like my PT, who care for others..who give 100%. Who stay the course...This was not a job for her.. Her compassion and leadership gave evidence to her character..
Thank you Song for this thread..Very positive OP :)
tinywiney 10-31-09, 02:11 PM I am grateful for reconnecting with one of my favorite people ever after 30 years!
I am grateful for the technology that allows this.
I am grateful for this forum, where I see lots of other folks that think like me and understand me - this means a lot when a certain "normal" individual reminds me on a daily basis that I'm not. I may not be "normal", but I choose not to be cruel. I am grateful I've learned to take the high road in these situations. I am grateful that most "normal" types are not this way.
I am grateful for a beautiful sunshiny Fall day, and I wish everyone a happy Halloween! Love to you all!
Song of Mercy 10-31-09, 02:36 PM I may not be "normal", but I choose not to be cruel.
Bravo!
I am grateful for being able to share a real problem I am having right now and that folks have responded with practical solutions that are helping me move in a positive direction.
I am grateful for the neighborhood outreach going on at the local park and the sweet teenageer from across the street that took my kids to the function. Bar-b-que, music, spiritual message...and teh part I am hoping works out, groceries for those that ask for it...I am also grateful that my kids have the courage to go and ask for this help while mamma tries to get some work done.
Song
firstdesserts 10-31-09, 07:33 PM I, too, am grateful that I am not cruel!
CircularingCats 10-31-09, 08:32 PM I am thankful that despite my ongoing worries things work out just fine for me. I hope from this that I can contribute to things working out well for others, too.
Cats :)
Song of Mercy 10-31-09, 09:20 PM I am grateful to have actually achieved some measurable work today. Thank Goodness!
Song of Mercy 11-02-09, 09:16 AM A little background for those who might read this who dont really know much about me...
I was raised in an alcoholic home and experienced a range of various abuses as a child. Combined with undetected adhd and a bipolar tendancy (released when I took to using meth in my late 20s) I have carried a fair size chip on my shoulder for most of my life. One thing that has bothered me is how do I honor my mother and father who did not do so many honorable things? Well, this morning I was thinking about the time I was struck down by a drunk driver when I was 9. Shortly afterwards when I was back home and out of my cast my step dad molested me. My mom divorced him and gave up untold financial benefits to remain near the hospital I was getting therapy at. My parents made a lot of money, but to really get her share of their assetts we would have had to relocate back to the state where the largest portion of those assets were at. Mom chose not to do that. She chose to lose what had basically taken her 10+ years to aquire in order to both protect me as best she could and to ensure that I would be able to walk properly for the rest of my life.
I am really grateful this morning for my mother. She made mistakes, but she loved me the best she knew how.
Song
Turbochica 11-02-09, 02:11 PM All of what you went through all that is what makes you a beautiful person right now, Song , I am grateful to count you as one of my friends :)

Even after all these years I still haven't run out of stuff to talk about with him LOL. Not that I have such a messed up life, but because of how we approach the situations at hand.
Plus, I'm blessed to have insurance coverage and a signing therapist who's excellent in his own right that I can understand.
Cats:)

CircularingCats 12-12-09, 09:44 AM Today I'm grateful that I'm feeling terrific and it's an "off-day" (weekend day), in which I don't even need to be feeling this good at this time in the morning.
I have things to do with my sister today, and after having a terrible day yesterday, this good start is a blessing.
My back is feeling better. Strange but I think it needs a bit of "wakening up" to get it into gear! If I give myself that extra time in the morning, then I can get my back to cooperate and my day to start well. :)

Christmas tree decorated!!!
It looks beautiful - and once I had straightened out a technical issue with the lights - turned on the sports channel and the Vikings are on, playing in MN.
I suddenly remembered, how we would decorate our tree when I was little "when the game was over" (my dad did the lights), wow those last 2 minutes of the game went on foverver! so my tree is done and I had a wonderful christmas memory.
ZiggyFry 12-13-09, 09:45 PM Everything going smoothly.

Song of Mercy 07-30-10, 09:20 PM Oh, today was 'THAT' day. It was the day after 22 years of being a parent when my daughter shared the whoas of being a mommy and all I could do was shout 'Woot wOOt' (inside of course!)
So...she was holding the baby without a diaper on and felt her 'bubbling,' decided it was gas and went on with the conversation for a while...(snicker...hold on a minute...ok, ok, im ready) so after a bit she slides her down her arm and discovers poo on her arm pants and shirt...apparently she is dressed for a date..kinda snazzed up..she goes to balance the baby and gets poo on her hand and other arm...daddy comes to the rescue and grabs little miss and somehow ends up with poo all over himself....my daughter is still holding it together until...well, the majority of the poo hits the floor and then she (who throws up very easily) begins to hurl....
and me? I start laughing, and laugh and am still laughing....I love her ok? But, for the newer members and those who dont know me well....this child has put me threw some serious trials over the last 5 years and to see life, minus 200$ dollar hair doos and 300$ purses reach out and introduce itself to her...well...
Priceless!
Rebelyell 07-30-10, 09:42 PM That I have the next 11 days off for a mental health break from the nuthouse, snickers I mean cough cough work:DThank god I was stupid hyper this morning and on cloud 9 thank god for today:D

You know what? I promise I am not saying this to brag or get attention, it is just such an amazing marker of the change...
My house is clean. It has been clean for 2 months...*happy tears*
It is not clean because of meds either. It is clean because of taking suggestions of what has worked for so many of you that come here and share.

Werl, I'm guessing central air isn't a necessity in Alberta like it is here, but I totally would trade weather with you. Our predicted high temps for the next few days: 103, 104, 106, 104 and 104. Come on, fall! :)

Song of Mercy 05-18-11, 11:48 AM I am greatful for my Doctor. Part of the challenge of treating me is figuring out which symptoms are caused by which disorder. One of my issues is an intense fear of authority and in my mind drs are an authority. So, today I am really greatful for a Dr who is willing to sort it all out, especially when I am unknowingly making my treatment a challenge by pretending to be ok because I am afraid of getting in trouble with my Dr.
