I sleep when the sun comes up and sometimes if I am manic enough...I wont sleep for days.....but coming down off the mania,....I am passing out! \even then it is a few hours or even 12 to 15 hours depending n how long I been awake..when I body has gone long enough ....It will shut down no matter what I do....but sometimes i am soo tireed that my body is asleep but my mind is still going....then I am inbetween two worlds.

My sleep pattern is stable--crappy every night. I wake up several times throughout the night, and have a hard time falling back asleep. During the day I have to keep slapping myself (figuratively speaking) to stay awake.

Ugh...right now I would describe my sleep pattern as non-existant. 2:15 am...sigh.

Night owl, no matter how tired I am I have to stay up late. I can't help it. And if I could I would sleep all day (but I have to work).

I work graveyard and tend to stay awake late into the night cleaning and such even on my night's off. I sleep from about 8 am to 11 am then if I'm lucky I can get a nap in at 4pm till about 6 pm before work.

For the past couple months I have slept very well and awake refreshed. However, I have very vivid dreams.

I sleep terribly. I have a hard time falling asleep at night and waking up in the morning. I wake up frequently during the night. To make matters worse, I often stay up later than I should, even if I need to wake up early in the morning. It’s like I think I might miss something if I go to bed. Ugh!

I smoke weed everynight before I sleep, I sleep like a baby and wake up with no problems.

I haven't had a decent night's sleep since I was about 8 years old. It takes me around two hours to fall asleep, and then I wake up every 20 - 40 minutes. When I get out of bed in the morning, I am tired. I am tired all day, and yet, I still can't sleep.

Sometimes it is worse than usual, and I will end up with 'sleep paralysis'. It used to scare me, but now that I know what it is...basically, it is when the body is asleep, but the mind is completely awake. I was scared, because I couldn't move or talk and I would drift in and out of consciousness.

I take clonidine now, which doesn't help much at all. What to do...?

i have a terrible time trying to get a good nights sleep. you should see me the following day. my doctor will only let me have so sleeping tablets (temazepam), that is only after warning me of the dangers of addiction. i must admit to having them for a few weeks before finally giving in last night at 2am after trying to get to sleep for four hours. i really feel great to-day, for the time in along while.
i will take them for anther two nights to see if i can regulate my sleeping a bit better.

my sleep pattern changed considerably when i started my meds. i was up until 3 or 4, and then back up at 6 and even if i took something for sleep it didn't help. strangely, i didn't feel fatigued or worn down either. now that i've been on meds for a few months though, it seems that i'm having a bit better time, but i'm still definitely a night owl like i never was before. probably actually fall asleep between midnight and 2 am.

heres a question. has anyone noticed that they don't like to actually get into their bed to sleep since being dx'd or starting treatment? i continually fall asleep on the couch because i think i'm afraid if i actually go into my bedroom and climb in, my racing thoughts from before will come back. just the idea of that freaks me out.

Sleep, is something I crave...
I haven't slept properly since I had kids....
bottom line is if you have kids...you'll never sleep the same again...

Actually I have a tendency to be a night owl (had no trouble staying up all night in my 20's)
Though these days, I find I wake up exhausted and can't wait till the kids are in bed so that I can crash. Somtimes I do get there in good time but the rest of the time I end up on the pc for hours or reading, or whatever. Other times I crawl into bed and start to sleep then, ping.... I'm not sleeping at all.

And what is with the being dead tired and passing out cold as soon as you hit the pillow and 2 hours later you are awake for the rest of the night????

Once in a while I can actually sleep in, I fantasize about sleeping well and waking totally refreshed...
(Pathetic life if that's all I fantasize about !)

my sleeping is...interesting. I stay awake till like 1am then go to bed. As soon as my head hits the pillow BANG im wide awake. This has caused issues in my family, its begining to work out though. I think i need to go to bed earlyer and put up with the frustration, even if its only half an hour earlyer. Also its a ballancing act, over stimulation before bed (using a computer, doing somthing stressfull) will make it harder for me to sleep, so its important to structure my evening to ensure i dont make things worse.
