View Full Version : Mindbloom as an ADD Coach?

12-15-09, 10:38 PM
I had a coach once for a few weeks (I won it in a charity auction), and though a life coach, I used the service to keep me on task with some of my ADD stuff.

A (NT) friend recently started using as a goal/coaching tool. There's a free trial, and it's not as expensive as coaching might be, so I'm wondering if it will work as a coaching substitute of sorts.

Has anyone tried using it (or a service like it) for coaching?

I have not tried using it. Seeing an add coach/social worker for my issues.

Thanks MCate,
I'm signed up for the free 14-day trial.
I already set up my tree with four branches and a several goals.
I tried to make them short and simple just to see how I do with this.

I'll let you all know how it's going.:D

You are welcome! So far, I like the daily reminders :) Just wish they stil had the promo price if I decide to do it ($89 *lifetime* membership!). Maybe it will come back after the holidays :D

Well, day one... not too successful:o, but that's okay:D
There's always tomorrow!

Yeah, I got my little reminders today... neat!

Trouble was.. I really just felt like sitting on the couch today until time to come in to work this afternoon.
Tomorrow is a day off from work so we'll see how I do then!

I made something like 3 or 4 branches.

Yeah, I've got about 4 branches...and, yeah, yesterday I was pretty "off-kilter" too...Ah, another day, another opportunity, right? :)

Well, I've practiced guitar and a little mandolin... one branch completed!:D
Now on to yoga! Well... soon, anyway.;)

Wow that's looksgreat. It says it can also be used as a tool to use with an actual Coach (person). It will be interesting to hear how it works for people with ADHD long term too.

I don't know that I will ever have an actual living, breathing, coach... but that would be interesting.

I didn't read up on how this might work with a live coach.
I'm just using it as a reminder tool and an organizing tool.
I tried to start small... 4 branches, easy tasks/goals.
I can expand with many other things once I see it working for me.

I found a free resource called Toodledo ( It has 2 paid upgrades, but the basic tool is free. Web-based and has goal tracking that is similar to Mindbloom....

I'm trying it out now, to see how it works for me. One plus is that it integrates/syncs with the iPhone (it even has an iPhone app (free), but I have Pocket Informant (the free version) that has sync for Toodledo built in).

Well, you've done it again Mcate!:D

I haven't had much success with my mindbloom over the holidays.
I need to work my way back on track now... we'll see.

I may check out this new one you found, thanks!
