i think the question you should be asking yourself, is:
How old is the operating system of the computer?
followed by,
how old is the application?
if you have access to the software, i'd uninstall then reinstall,
run scan disc, defrag your harddrive.
get a new computer. . . . .

to answer your original question,
yes ~ when i had windows 95
no ~ i have windows Xp

Actually, I have Windows 2000 and a nearly brand new computer. It can be frustrating though!

Yes, sometimes I run a lot of windows. No, I'm not ADD, but I do several tasks at a time. Mostly the only time the computer freezes is when someone catches me in yahoo chat and posts the codes to boot. Which drives me nuts.

Misclee....

How much RAM (memory) do you have.

In theory, if you had sufficient memory, you could have unlimited windows open.

Ok, here's how bad I am about this. I allways have many windows open at once, two email programs, several IE windows, and usually some Windows Explorer windows, and if I feel like chatting I'll have Yahoo IM, AOL IM and MSN IM open because I can't get all my friends on the same thing...

Ok, but it gets worse. I have have a job where I'm pretty much on my computer all day. (I'm a Network Administrator)... So to make my desk the perfect little ADD heaven for me, I have not one but two computers with a little button for switching back and forth between the two while only needing 1 mouse, monitor & keyboard...

Somedays I just let myself go... websurfing, newsgroups, downloading, maybe play a game here and there, email, running various work related programs, opening remote desktop sessions to my servers, and many other things. Then other days I'll lock down into just one thing, like today where I've spent the majority of my morning reading posts on here and following weblinks from posts... Didn't know of this site before today, so lots of reading for me.. :)

Most of the time when my puter freezes it's due to Explorer messing up..I have more problems with IE 6.0 than I have had with other explorers. Drives me nuts to be in the middle of something and explorer throws a fatal error at me.

I hate netscape..so I'm on the hunt for a new browser...LOL..but as I hear it they all have problems.
