Nice Sarey, love the colors and textures, and isolating in your framing. What camera did you get?

12-30-09, 12:53 AM
It's a 12 mega pixel/3X zoom/ 3.0" / 7.6 cm LCD Kodak EasyShare C182 Digital Camera.

They are great shots sarey. They are very colourful and the lighting is great.
I also love the way you manage to get the focus exactly on the subject.

I wish I could make them like that.

Yay thank you!!!

I am not someone who can speak very technically about photography as I'm a point and click hopeful. But I can say, I really like how you isolate what you're focusing on. It makes it like an experience you're sharing, more than just trying for technical perfection. I like how you make photography an artistic impression of appreciation because often it seems people care more about being technically perfect that it overshadows the subject.

There's a romantic intensity of focus that I really enjoy as there truly is a simple beauty in being able to stop and smell the grass, see the struggle of a flower, the crystal of melting snow which we're usually so immune to. It's very inspiring to see how uniquely talented you are it's not easy to combine technique and artistic passion in photography.

Thanks so much for sharing Sarey!

More to come =D I just took lots more outside. Not very variable(I only went in my front&back garden) but yeah.

Very, very nice. Your use of contrast is very emotive and your use of macro (close-up) is very good for encouraging the viewer to appreciate exactly what you want to show.

Beautiful photos, sarey. :)

You have a great deal of photographic talent there, keep taking photos like these and you could be able to submit them to a site like {www. shutterstock. com} and share them with the world! I've had photos used commercially, and it's a great sense of achievement.

Like I said, keep them coming! A joy to see...

Ali :)

You have a good eye, Sarey.

I'd love to see you explore the "manual" features of your camera. See if you can find an "EV" control and try taking one shot at different settings ranging from -2EV to +2 EV. You'll find that you will be able to achieve some really sweet effects just with changing exposure (EV means "Exposure Value").

Depending on the brand of your camera, there are likely also a number of "scene" settings (for night or beach or fireworks or vivid, etc) which will either enhance color or let you shoot black and white, etc.

Photography has become the main outlet for my own creativity these past 12+ years (since the advent of digital).

Back when you were just a little kid, we could only take 12-24-36 shots on a roll of film at a cost of about $0.25-0.50 a shot and then it took a day to a week to see what you got!

Now you get instant feedback which means you can adjust immediately and really learn as you go.

Have fun! and keep shooting.

Forgot three!

& I saw those settings, it's how it came out so clear on the flowers & all. =)
It has a lot of settings, but I need to get a feel of what's the right setting for me and the photos I take. xx

Thank you Sarey, for the invite to peruse your wonderful photography.
Even though ive never been much on landscape photos, I have to say these look marvelous. Are you taking any sort of classes?

12-31-09, 02:03 PM
Nope. & thank you =)

I really like these pics sarey.
The close-ups, the color contrast, I can feel that snow.
You have a good eye.
Looks like you had fun with your new camera, good to see that.

yup thank you.

Yes, Sarey, these are beautiful. I especially like this one:

I love those ice ones too =)

What I like about it is that the ice appears to be floating. You can't really get perspective on it. It could be superimposed.

More, please. :)

Very nice pictures. I just spent $500 on a Fuji Bridge Cam. It is good, but there is something about the colors on the Kodak that just make every picture seem good.
Some of my best pictures I have taken were on my Kodak Easyshare 8 Megapixel that I bought at Kmart-pictures of Niagara Falls came out perfect. and I didn't even have to think twice about it.

lovely, sarey:)

you're a natural; in some of the collections you can really see the progression of your eye and how you've become more adept at composition with each successive shot.

nicely done!
