Does anybody know of Microsoft Office has any Mindmapping software built into any of the programs besides Power Point?
I really like Inspiration Software but want to make sure I don't already have a similar type of product on my pc already before I pay for it.

I don't know about Office 2003 but everything before that doesn't have anything worth using for mind mapping.
Ok fill me in

Some examples of MM Sofware are:

Both offer free trials. Inspiration is great software and more than likely I will end up purchasing it.

I find One Note is something from MS OFFICE in 2003 that is helpful. I don't know if it qualifies as mind mapping, but it sure makes info easy to catagorize and find.

yes. i think inspiration is a great software as well. i recently downloaded mindmanager, but i'm difinitely going to buy inspiration as soon as i can afford it!
:D
One Note didn't come with the Version of MS office 2003 that I have so that would be and additonal cost to me.
To anser Gary's Questions Inspritation is $60 or $70. The program is well worth the cost for me. I just wanted to make sure I didn't already something similar to it.

How does inspiration differ from mindmanager? I tried mindmanager and it seems pretty good for mapping out a project. I used it to map out home improvements. Is inspiration basically the same?
By the way, one notes does not work in that manner, it is a note keeping system.
MS Project is probably the closest thing to a "process mapper" that Microsoft has available today. It takes a while to master, and can be overwhelmingly complex to the beginner.

one thing i noticed about mapjet mindmanager is it exports the data into common programs like ms outlook and ms project, and it allow you to assign dates to each aspect of the idea being outlined.

I think Inspiration is more user friendly. It was designed with younger students in mind. I don't really know if it's designed to accomplish goals.
It pretty much takes a basic outline and put it in different types of graphical formats like webs, flow charts, etc.

i downloaded the trial version of inspiration, and was *very* sad when the trial period ended...
i thought it was absolutely *brilliant*!
:D
i made this "goals" chart/mindmap using it, and it was neat to see that i don't have to do *everything* myself - i listed my "resource people" and realised i basically have all the help i need - i just have to ask the right person!
:D
also, i liked the "rapid fire" feature - a *great* way for me to get all my ideas onto paper *fast*!
(i'm an excellent brainstormer - it's the *execution* of all of these ideas that fails me...)
